Description

Bryn Canaid is a Grade II Listed Welsh long house on the Western tip of the Llyn peninsula. The view of Bardsey Island which lies across the criss-crossing currents of Bardsey Sound is iconic. The boat leaves from a small nearby port carrying travellers to the important sight of pilgrimage.

Located on the edge of Uwchmynydd, Under Mountain, and close to Mynydd Mawr, the peak of which is a well-known sight for watching the sunset and coastal birds, including the resident population of choughs. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounded by coastal farmland, much of which is owned by the National Trust.

The adjacent green lane runs down to secret coves, great for spotting marine life including seals and dolphins. On a clear day the Wicklow Mountains on the horizon can be seen.

The area is also a Dark Sky Preserve and sometimes at night the Milky Way appears clearly over Bryn Canaid and the moon can be observed rising and setting around the island in the distance.

The landscape and seascape surrounding Bryn Canaid were the inspiration for many poems by the priest poet RS Thomas. His last ministry was at St Hywyn’s Church in nearby Aberdaron.

Bryn Canaid has been thoughtfully refurbished and maintained by the current owner. The design is simple yet cosy and in harmony with rural location. Each high-end fixture and fitting has been carefully selected and finished to a high standard.

Currently operated as a highly successful holiday rental, consistently achieving excellent occupancy and Five Star ratings, qualifying for Business Rates thanks to its exceptional location and the attraction it offers to visitors.

The accommodation includes a living room featuring an inglenook fireplace, exposed beams, and a historic crogloft, which leads to the kitchen diner situated centrally within the property. Both bedrooms are located at the northern end, each offering spectacular views. The double bedroom has a large vanity sink and each bedroom shares a modern wet room.
