Description
Time to roll up your sleeves and turn this well loved family home into a newly re-furbished property for you and your family! There is no getting away with it, there is some work to do, but if you have the vision and know how, this could be transformed! So to start, the property does have gas central heating, although some rooms still rely on electric storage heaters. The windows are secondary glazed, to further insulate the single glazed sash windows . On entering the property, there is a nice sized hallway with space for storage. The sitting room is set at the front and has lots of light from the 2 sash windows. The central fireplace currently houses a gas fire, but the current owners indicate that there may be a real one behind it! The kitchen diner is much larger than expected with plenty of room for a table and is fitted with units which could be used until you decide what to do next with this area. We say that, because added onto the kitchen/diner is this huge utility room which is begging to be opened up into the kitchen, creating even more of a family friendly area. A useful downstairs WC and lean to provides space for storage. A neighbouring house has already extended with a larger extension setting a precedent moving forward.
Upstairs, there are 3 bedrooms. Two are good sized double bedrooms with useful storage cupboards and an additional generous single bedroom, perfect as a child's room or a decent sized study. The property has a very spacious bathroom with a separate toilet should someone be taking too long in the bath! In addition, there is an unusual shower room which simply has the shower and tiling and used to be incorporated into the original bathroom before the extension was built.
Outside, and there is a surprisingly spacious garden with a dry stone wall to the back boundary, and several fruit trees in front, giving some privacy and a selection of fruit at this time of year. The majority of the garden has been utilised for a serious vegetable grower, with several raised beds, a greenhouse, and garden stores. There is a decent sized patio and also the garage to one side. Once again, a little love and elbow grease and this space will be transformed.
A rarity in Paul Street, is space to park and there is a driveway to pull off road. However, it is a little narrow for most of todays cars, but some re jigging of a wall might give you some space. The long driveway up to the garage offers a great area to store bins and more options for extension(subject to planning). This no through road is mainly park on the street so there is always that option too.
Paul Street is in the heart of historic Corsham with its wandering peacocks and a fabulous range of amenities and shops. A short walk away is the high street with all the excellent independent shops, a huge variety of restaurants and cafes, the Pound Arts centre, St Bartholomews church, and the wonderful walks at Corsham Court. For sports enthusiasts, the Springfield campus is also a short walk away, Precision Pilates for classes, and the rugby, cricket, and football clubs are also within easy walking distance for most. The wide range of local schools are also all accessible by foot. The bus service from Corsham runs regularly to Bath and Chippenham stopping outside both mainline rail stations where you can access London Paddington in just over an hour.
We love Corsham and will happily tell you more if you are new to the area!
In the meantime, I'd love to offer the opportunity to anyone who will sympathetically bring this home back to its former glory!
