Description

We are pleased to offer this one-bedroom apartment on the raised ground floor, set within a Grade II listed terrace street on the Regent’s Park side of Camden.

The apartment has high ceilings throughout both the original property and the modern extension. The period features in the spacious reception room include the original sash window architrave and shutters, fireplace, ceiling cornices and decorative plasterwork mouldings, with west-facing views across to the tree-lined side of the Terrace, the green canopy of trees and buttermilk houses on the Crown Estate, towards Regent’s Park (a few minutes’ walk away). The rest of the apartment is well above ground level and faces east, secluded and quiet, with views of neighbouring gardens. The one bedroom has two fully-fitted built-in wardrobes and shelves. Both of the original period windows in the reception room and bedroom are double-glazed. In the modern extension, linked to the original property by four steps, the separate kitchen is a bespoke German design, and features a granite stone sink, a high-flame gas ring designed for stir-fry cooking, and a double- function built-in high-standing oven (both microwave and conventional). The kitchen has great natural light from two sash windows. The shower room is also bespoke German. It features a rainshower descended from the ceiling, underfloor heating, a four-foot-high towel rail radiator, a Philippe Starck-designed toilet from Duravit Germany which incorporates a heat sensor and integrated bidet functions, and all walls and floor are fully-tiled.

Mornington Terrace dates back to the mid-1800’s. It is one of Camden’s most revered locations, offering a tranquil residential setting (unknown to tourists) and intimate community vibe (the local corner deli has been in the same family ever since the store was built in 1851), with easy access to the open gardens of Regent’s Park (which is the largest of all the Royal Parks in central London) with its cafes, open-air theatre, tennis courts, sports pavilion, bandstand, and boating lake, as well as its smaller ponds and waterways and, of course, the zoo. Regent's Park also offers various cyclist facilities, including designated cycle routes, bike hire, and parking. Marylebone High Street, Oxford Street and other West End attractions are all within walking distance across the Park. Primrose Hill, with its breathtaking views of the city, village-feel, independent shops, restaurants and cafes, is only a ten-minute walk. Camden Town is also nearby, with its world-famous street markets and iconic music venues plus the local High Street amenities which include a Marks & Spencer foodhall, an Aldi supermarket and one of north London’s largest Sainsbury’s. The ever-evolving St Pancras and King’s Cross development is a fifteen-minute stroll, for the cobbled streets and brick arches of Granary Square & the Coal Drops Yard, with stylish eateries, the two acres of Camley Street Natural Park, and popular recreational squares in an extraordinary canal side setting and home to London’s Knowledge Quarter – the brand new headquarters for Google, Facebook, YouTube, the Guardian, the British Library, the King’s Place concert halls, and the new Lightroom Gallery as well as The Francis Crick Institute.

Transport links include Mornington Crescent Station (Northern Line, connecting to the Elizabeth Line at Tottenham Court Rd) which is less than 0.2 miles away, Camden Town Station (both Bank and Charing Cross branches of the Northern Line) is less than 0.3miles away, and Camden Road Station (London Overground with direct services to Kew Gardens and Richmond to the west and Stratford’s Olympic Park to the east) is also nearby. Euston Station (National Rail & Victoria Line) is 0.5 miles. St Pancras Eurostar is 0.7m away, for non-stop service to Brussels and Paris. And intercity services to the North and the Midlands are also at Kings Cross & St Pancras Stations, which also has six London underground lines. The Regent's Canal towpath is also just a few minutes away, great for walking and cycling through to King Cross and east to Hoxton and west to Little Venice and Paddington.
