Description
The Property - Built around 1845, shortly after Brighton Station opened, this charming two-bedroom terraced house sits quietly at the end of a peaceful side street, directly opposite Brighton Station yet blissfully shielded from the buzz. This isn’t a cut-through, just a residents-only street with a row of communal plant pots at the end, giving it a village-like feel right in the middle of the city.
The home has been lovingly looked after by its current owners for the past 18 years and is beautifully presented throughout. From the moment you step through the door you’re welcomed by soft neutral tones, stripped wooden flooring underfoot and soft carpeted stairs.
On the ground floor, the characterful sitting room is at the front of the house with a log-burning stove, built-in cupboards and shelving, and that signature curved window these houses are known for. Just beyond is a second bright reception room, currently set up as a versatile dining/work space, with double doors that open directly into the garden. Beyond, the kitchen is a delight, a bright galley layout with neutral shaker-style units, a vaulted ceiling with skylights, and a pantry for practical storage.
The garden is a south-facing oasis. Think patio flooring, a gentle water feature with a fish pond, a mature fig tree and a grape vine, and space to soak up the sun all day long. It’s private, quiet, and comes with a bike shed - a rare slice of calm in central Brighton.
Upstairs are two good-sized bedrooms. The front room echoes the living room below with its curved bay window and includes a built-in wardrobe and space for additional storage. The rear bedroom overlooks the neighbouring gardens and features built-in shelving. The bathroom is a treat too, with soft blue panelled walls, a freestanding claw-foot bath, a corner shower, WC, and sink.
There’s a boarded loft with insulation for additional storage, rounding off a home that’s as practical as it is beautiful.
