Description
A Stunning Village house for sale in st Martin de Belleville
I'm unashamedly biased about this property - it's everything I love in mountain homes - a sensitive, comprehensive renovation of a traditional village house, keeping the character of its Savoyarde exterior but with a beautiful modern alpine interior. Stylish and practical - the perfect combination

This 170 msq plus property sits proudly in the historic heart of St Martin, just steps from the main square, ski lift, piste, shops, bars and restaurants. To be this close to the action yet to be in such a calm and quiet location is no mean feat.
Arranged over four floors the clever design allows a transverse dual aspect flooded with natural light and village and mountain views. There are four bedrooms including a cabine bedroom, two ensuites and a family bathroom.
The top floor is a showstopping full height room with windows to three sides, a fireplace and a large terrace with gorgeous views and a sunny aspect. Space and light are so difficult to find in the centre of the resort and this room has both.
The floor below has a gorgeous kitchen with black Zimbabwean granite working surfaces, a gorgeous dining area and one of the ensuite double bedrooms. Elsewhere there is a useful and modern utility, technical room, Garage currently used as bike storage, pretty hall and ski room, and a useful Sauna.
Externally there is a huge bonus, the Chalet is sold with its own private separate detached garage and land
THE LOCATION
At an altitude of 1450 metres Saint Martin de Belleville is not a purpose built ski resort. It is the chef lieu (chief town) of the Belleville Valley.
Many years ago the Mairie decided that it wanted St Martin to remain a traditional mountain village, and retain its thriving village community all year round. Recent Investment has seen a modern 8 person telecabine linking to a fast 6 person chair - St Martin 1 & 2, taking you into the heart of the 3 Valleys in under 20 minutes. St Martin is an integral part of the three valleys ski area, but it is still an authentic French mountain village. It has everything you need in a ski resort - a selection of good ski & board hire shops, ski school, excellent child minding / creche facilities, and a choice of great apres-ski bars and restaurants. There is also a supermarket, boulangerie / patisserie, butcher, bank, chemist, post office, and newsagent / tabac. All the amenities of a modern ski resort with the added benefit of the charm of a village where the locals live and work all year round.
The property is located in the resorts historic heart, just steps from the centre and the main piste of st Martin de Belleville.
