The property is located in the hamlet of Les Croutes, just outside the village of Flogny-la-Chapelle, on the Aube/Yonne border. 
This area is know as the Grand Est region of France and is known for its rich history, picturesque landscapes, and vibrant culture. It boasts the scenic Champagne vineyards and beautiful medieval towns like Troyes and Chablis. Chablis is renowned for its world-famous white wines made from Chardonnay grapes and the town itself has some fabulous restaurants, wineries and a renowned weekly produce market. 
The closest village to the house is Flogny-la-Chappelle which is a 5mins drive. Here you’ll find a mini mart, café, bakery, butcher and a really good deli. For the bigger supermarkets, you need to go to either St Florentin (nine kilometres away) or Ervy-le-Châtel (about eight kilometres away).  Other towns in the area well worth exploring include Dijon, Troyes, Chablis and, if you happen to have a couple of children with rubber rings to hand, whizzing down the weir at Tonnerre is great fun.
