Chablis is renowned for its world-famous white wines made from Chardonnay grapes and the town itself has some fabulous restaurants, wineries and a renowned weekly produce market.
The closest village to the house is Flogny-la-Chappelle which is a 5mins drive. Here you’ll find a mini mart, café, bakery, butcher and a really good deli. For the bigger supermarkets, you need to go to either St Florentin (nine kilometres away) or Ervy-le-Châtel (about eight kilometres away). Other towns in the area well worth exploring include Dijon, Troyes, Chablis and, if you happen to have a couple of children with rubber rings to hand, whizzing down the weir at Tonnerre is great fun.
