Apartment in the historic centre of Chianni, specifically in the medieval church square that was once the site of the castle. An excellent base for spending your holidays in Tuscany, but also ideal for living in peace and quiet with all amenities close at hand.

The entrance is from the church square, to the first floor where there is a rustic, character kitchen overlooking the square. On the second floor there are two bedrooms and a bathroom, also overlooking the square.

A gound floor, renovated "cantina" with fireplace is also part of the property; it can be used as a second living area opening into the Piazza where you can sit and enjoy the afternoon sun, or to enjoy the wonderful shows and events organised in the square, which include music, opera and candlelight concerts.

Il Lampone has a very high rental potential and the present owner is currently letting it successfully for the whole spring/summer season.

The little town of Chianni is charming and picturesque, with ancient stone houses clustered along quiet streets, and beautiful old piazzas around every corner. There are lovely shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, all within easy walking distance. There is a palpable sense of history and timelessness, and the town is immaculately kept with flower baskets on every corner. Chianni is only 40 minutes drive from Pisa airport, and the coastal cities of Castiglioncello and Cecina on the Tyrrhenian coast, and also the golf courses of Pisa and Castelfalfi, and the remains of Etruscan and historic towns, such as Volterra, are all within 30 minutes drive.

Surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside, with chestnut woods and olive groves, Chianni is on a hill 350 metres above sea level and has splendid views over the valley below.

The town is located in the Valdera in Central Tuscany between Pisa and Florence, a colourful landscape of rolling hills dotted with medieval villages, castles and lanes flanked with tall dark green cypress trees that epitomises the Tuscan landscape. Meandering through the countryside of Valdera you feel the vestiges of the mysterious Etruscan civilization. Here Andrea Boccelli was born, and it is in the heart of Valdera in Lajatico that the famous Teatro del Silenzio (the Theatre of Silence), a natural amphitheatre, creates a breathtaking setting for special summer evening perfomances by some of the greatest names in opera.

Nearby, Casciana Terme (5km) has thermal waters and spa facilities and is a pretty town with piazzas and cafès serving the local wine. The città d’arte (cities of art) include Volterra, San Gimignano, Palaia and Florence, all within an easy drive for day trips or longer visits.
