Born in Veliko Tarnova Stefan Nikolov Stambolov was a Bulgarian politician, journalist, revolutionary, and poet who served as Prime Minister and regent. He is considered one of the most important and popular "Founders of Modern Bulgaria". So much so they named the village after him.
Stephan Stambolovo also being the birthplace of Dracula apparently and so it goes the village itself has a lot of history the area is named The Garden (Gardenia) because the soil is so fertile in this area The village offers a community centre, post office, village hall, library, small park, church, several shops, bars and public transport to neighbouring towns and villages. The population is about 190 people (according to the latest census).
