Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The building is right in the city center with access to a lot of eating outlets and shops in the vicinity. Ample connectivity to various parts of the town by buses and trams. The street side view might get a bit noisy for some people during the weekends but is not a problem for me. The property is in the heart of the city so there is no parking available. There is a temporary spot in front of the building.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management responds to any issues very promptly which is perfect!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The size of the kitchen area is a bit smaller which everyone might not be comfortable with.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The building is in the heart of Sheffield and surrounded by culture in every direction. You can find local supermarkets, coffee shops, museums and much more all within walking distance. The transport links are second to none, the tram stop is within walking distance as well bus links to various parts of Sheffield. With the building being on West Street, some weeknights and the weekends come to life with bars and restaurants within a stone throw.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

All and any issues I have ever raised, including personal issues have been dealt with compassion and understanding.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Everything that is needed to know about the building or contracts or rent and prices was explained to me really well before moving here and I can’t say there are any questions or things that I needed to know more about as staff did a great job of covering more than just the basics.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Living on West Street as a student is so brilliantly convenient, I am always close to campus, the centre and the socials! We're spoilt for choice with transport stops, and there's a Tescos just two buildings down as well as a choice of many other shops, bars and restaurants. The only issue is with being so close to the clubs and tram stops it is possible to hear the music/tram horns however this is not as prominent as one might think.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

There hasn't been many issues to report to be honest but when I first moved in I did need some assistance with using the electrics, and Clive came by and very patiently explained everything to me.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing you do not get to realise in a viewing because you're only in the room for such a short time is that it heats up very quickly, I would seriously recommend bringing a fan with you for the summer months.

    Manager's response

Thank you for such a thoughtful 5* review. We're so pleased to hear that you're enjoying your studio, and the sense of community that our events and communal spaces help create. It means a lot to know that our efforts to bring residents together are making a real impact, and we'll be sure to pass your kind words on to the team, especially Clive! We're glad the convenience of West Street is working well for you too, it's certainly a lively and well-connected part of the city. Thanks as well for the helpful tip about summer temperatures; that kind of insight is invaluable for future residents. Thanks for being apart of The James community!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It’s quite busy area . A lot of places for food or night out . Transport links are really good . Can definitely recommend 👍☺️

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They will sort your problem super fast and leave some sweets after ☺️

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It’s quite busy area . But they put extra windows everywhere and the noise can’t bother you anymore x

    Manager's response

Thank you so much for your amazing review. We're delighted to hear how much you’ve loved your apartment from day one, and that the cleanliness, quick maintenance, and sense of community have all made a difference. We're especially glad you’ve felt supported by the team at reception, Nicole will be over the moon to get a special mention! It’s great to hear the vibrant location is working well for you, and we’re proud that despite being in a busy area, your home still feels peaceful and comfortable. We’re so happy you’ve chosen to call The James home.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The James apartment is in the city centre. Local shops, restaurants, bars are all within walking distance. Tesco shop is the next door and there are nearby sushi restaurants, Nandos, Chinese hotpot and noodles restaurants. It’s very close to tram stations and it will take 15 mins on foot to train station. The street outside is clean, wide and full of greenery. The apartment offers a separate room for bin collection. With its noise-proof window, it’s quiet inside the room. We really enjoy the luxury studio living experience.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Every issue has been solved in the next working day. The staff are very kind and helpful. They always replied to my message promptly. Appreciate a lot!!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It will take 15 mins on foot from train station to the apartment. The road sometimes can be steep. If you carry heavy luggages, it will be better to take a tram or taxi to arrive here.

    Manager's response

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed 5-star review! We're so glad to hear you're enjoying the co-working space, our central location, and the vibrant neighbourhood around The James. Knowing you've chosen to stay long term really means the world to us, it's the highest compliment, and we're genuinely grateful to have you as part of our community. Your kind words about the team mean a lot, and we’re always here to support you. And you're absolutely right, Sheffield is famously hilly! Thankfully, The James is on one of the rare flat streets, so you can skip the uphill treks and enjoy an easy walk home. Here’s to many more great moments living at The James!
