Situated within the North York Moors National Park the land is just off the Four Lanes End junction at Scalby where Limestone Road and Barmoor Lane dissect. There is access via two gateways off the council maintained Barmoor Lane.

The land is mostly level with the south west corner being gently rolling in it its nature. It is bounded on all four sides with mature hedges.
