What the owners say…..

It can be tough to be sure about a new home, especially if you're not familiar with the area. We were once unsure but what really sealed the deal for us was discovering the charm of Welwyn Garden City. It’s more than just a town; it’s a place that balances everything you could want. We truly fell in love with WGC and the natural light filled house on a tree-lined street we knew this would make the ideal family home.

Upon entering you are greeted with a welcoming foyer leading into our spacious living room, an abundance of light flows the front traditional bay window and a beautiful feature fireplace. Our kitchen is the heart of this home with a contemporary in design, plenty of space for storage and appliances and all around well-equipped.

Our stunning bi-fold doors pull all the way back open and let the outside in, leading to our private enclosed rear garden, with a dining area towards the back. Easy to maintain and the perfect place to relax and unwind.

We have a downstairs bathroom which we love and have meticulously designed this to give a beautiful finish.

Leading upstairs we have three good size bedrooms and a further family bathroom with a jacuzzi. All the décor is neutral and ready for the buyers to just move in and make it their own!

When we bought the house, we completely refurnished it - but kept lots of the original features.

Most recently we fitted a new driveway in November 2021 with new fencing at the front. Giving a second private garden at the front of the house.

We built a vestibule inside the front door with shelves and storage for coats and shoes, so everything has a place.

We knocked down the living room wall to create a large, open-plan living space. We also fitted a brand-new kitchen in 2017 with the bifold doors. We even custom-built a laundry cupboard and a seating area with a pullout storage drawer.

In the garden we built the decking area with steps and created a separate dining space at the back. We also revamped the garden shed for storage and gave it a fresh coat of paint in August 2025.

We took great care to restore the original 1930s wooden floors and doors throughout the house, bringing back their unique charm.

Our home is perfectly situated. You're just a 15-minute walk from the WGC train station, which makes commuting a breeze. The trains are so fast—you can be in central London in just 30 minutes! We loved being able to leave the house at 8 am and be at our desks by 9 am.

You'll be amazed at how much green space is right on your doorstep. We’re less than a five-minute walk from the King George V Playing Fields, which is just across the road from our local parade of shops. Having everything so close is ideal. There’s a post office, Boots chemist, a fantastic bakery, a Co-op, and even a hairdresser. We also must mention Stanborough Water Park, which you’ll see as you drive into town and just 20 minutes’ walk away into town. It’s a brilliant spot, all year round. You can try paddleboarding, take a kayak or paddle duck out or go fishing. There is so much for the children including the Splash water park where kids can play in the water on the pirate ship. It’s the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon. Even if it does rain, there’s plenty to do in the Howard centre and cinema, again just a walk from Holwell Road.

There’s no shortage of space to run, walk, and bike. We loved jumping on the Ayot Green national cycle route, a former train track that takes you through a beautiful forest. The forest itself is full of kids' play areas, scenic walking paths, and picnic spots.

There is of course the town centre with the beautiful, landscaped areas, and abundance of bars, restaurants and shops within the Howard Centre as well as Waitrose, John Lewis & Sainsburys.

We are in the catchment area to excellent local schools and have a real sense of community here.
