Description
BRICKWORKS SAYS
Set in an Italianate villa, this flat is distinctive and elegant. Designed by the architects of the Almeida theatre, with such reputable roots, it’s no wonder it makes an impression. The ceilings go on for miles, giving every room a lofty feel. The main living area is a convivial space, with cheerful yellow kitchen tiles in the contemporary kitchen and a rather magnificent marble fireplace.
The flat has been sensitively updated by the current owners, whose design choices are befitting of a home with such period pedigree. Take, for instance, the vintage-esq bathroom in powderpuff pink or the deep olive in the second bedroom. In the main bedroom, the enormous glass doors flood the room with light and create a connection to the world beyond.
This part of Finsbury Park has always been a go-to destination with its top-notch transport links and various green spaces. And with more and more interesting spots popping up, its appeal continues to grow. If you're looking for a stellar local, you're spoilt for choice, from pizza at the Landseer Arms (closer to Holloway) to the buzzing beer garden at the Faltering Fallback (just of the Stroud Green Road). There is also cuisine from around the globe, including Dotori, a local Korean and Japanese food institution, and the fresh-faced Tollington’s Fish Bar, which has been getting the kudos it deserves. Plus, you’ve got one of London’s hidden gems, the Parkland Walk, on your doorstep.

THE OWNERS SAY
We fell in love with the flat as soon as we walked in. It feels like a calm oasis in a fun and lively part of London. We love the high ceilings and the unusual architecture of the building, which make it feel spacious and open.
Our favourite aspect is the large floor-to-ceiling doors in the bedroom, which open out with a Juliet balcony over the beautifully-cultivated garden belonging to our neighbour. We can happily sit there for hours in the morning sun, listening to the birds and feeling as though we are in the countryside. We love cooking and can find any obscure ingredient we might need in the local area. It feels like the perfect place to experience all the benefits of living in London.
