LOCATION

Upton is a beautiful village located on the outskirts of Retford. In neighbouring villages you have plenty of country pubs to choose from but certainly The Duke William at Askham is well worth a try for a bite to eat. There are also options for primary schools in the villages with Secondary options at Retford and Tuxford.

The market town of Retford still benefits from having market days and the farmers market is well worth a visit. As well as all your supermarket options, you have many varied restaurants and bars to try along with lovely walks along the Chesterfield Canal. The town benefits from having a mainline train station giving direct trains to London Kings Cross as well as Leeds. This really does benefit those that may need to commute or potentially see the benefits of living up north with the change in property prices.

The A1 is easily accessed at nearby Markham Moor and gives great road links to the regions major towns and cities.

If sports are your thing then this property allows many options for all the family. We will start with Rugby with Bassetlaw Bulldogs being based in neighbouring East Markham and providing Rugby League for ages  from 4 years old up to The Masters. Other options are Retford Rugby Club and Newark. If cricket is your thing the Milton Cricket club again offers cricket for the kids as well as two mens teams. Many of the local villages have football teams again for all age groups. We are spoilt with golf clubs locally but within a short drive you have Retford and Rufford golf courses both offering lovely settings to enjoy.

DESCRIPTION

If your looking for a family home in a popular village location but close to all the amenities then look no further.  Gloucester House sits in a slightly elevated position providing ample parking and leading to the detached double garage.

Internally you walk into a bright and spacious entrance hall. From here we will go left the same as the video into the dining room. For those family meals and Christmas this provides the perfect space. Or maybe its for the kids - giving them a play room. The main living room is a cracking size and you can imagine cosy winter nights with the fire on watching a movie. Also a great space if you are entertaining especially in the summer months with a wrap around patio and doors coming from the living room and kitchen room giving you a great space to entertain guests.

The WC is again ideal for the modern family or when having guests over. Next we have the open plan dining or living kitchen. With the kitchen at one end complete with china display units and ample worktop and storage but the cream on the bun has to be the Aga keeping you nice and warm in the winter months. The other end of the room you can make it your own - maybe a dining area or maybe an extra seating area depending on your needs. The property also has a utility room which is perfect for the modern family meaning you have extra space for the washer but also by having an outside door gives you the option if you have muddy paws to keep the house clean.

Upstairs we will start in the Master bedroom. A cracking space with still many options if you wish to add fitted wardrobes. Currently having a double wardrobe and en suite facilities this works really well for the modern family. The second bedroom again benefits from en suite facilities so if you have children or guests then they have the benefit of this. The third bedroom is another double along with fitted wardrobes.

The fourth bedroom is a single or currently used as an office. Bedrooms three and four utilise the family bathroom. Complete with roll top bath on ball and claw feet along with telephone style shower attachment it really brings a bit of the country to this home.

Outside you can enter the garden from the living room or kitchen onto an extensive patio. One of the great positives about this home is the garden has been created to enjoy special moments on various patio areas to take advantage of the sun at different times. All taking in the stunning garden thats been created by the current owners. the garden is on split levels and benefits from steps going onto further lawns, patio area and summer house.
