Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The building is situated in a prime location. You have a 20 min walk to the main town centre and beach but there are an abundance of shops, pubs and restaurants on your doorstep of the building. The train station is a 5 mins walk away which has direct links into London and surrounding areas and the bus stops near by get you to wherever you need to be with ease. I do not drive therefore cannot say much about parking but in general the building offers a car park mostly consisting of disabled spots - there are other local car parks within walking distance of the building you can use for a fee. I rarely use the bin chute as it’s fairly small but it’s super easy to just manually drop your bin bags off in the lower ground designated area. Due to my apartment being front facing and on a lower floor level there is noise from the street but over time you get used to it - this generally would be my only complaint though. If you live higher up I doubt it would be much of an issue. There was a group of delinquent children who broke into the building fairly recently but the staff worked over hours to deal with this, done their best to ensure the safety of tenants as well as the delinquents themselves and called the police immediately.. to my knowledge nothing similar has happened since.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes - almost immediately. I have only put in 2-3 requests and they were dealt with either the same day or a day later.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Some of the flats with balcony’s seem small so I opted for one without a balcony because the floor space was bigger ……… get one with a balcony it’s a lot better imo.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Local Amenities The location is very well served for day-to-day needs. A Tesco Extra is only a 3–4 minute walk from the building, and less than a minute away there are several useful local shops, including a café, laundrette, bottle shop, an independent coffee shop, and a greengrocer. There’s also a pub just around the corner (less than a minute’s walk) which is friendly, serves fresh and good-quality food, and offers a wide range of drinks. Just two minutes away, there’s a small independent craft beer, ale, and cider pub with a very relaxed atmosphere and welcoming staff. For wider choice, the local High Street is close by, with an array of shops including Boots (pharmacy and opticians), Specsavers, banks, coffee shops, cafés, restaurants, and two further pubs. Overall, the area has a great mix of convenience and leisure options within easy walking distance. Transport Links Transport connections are excellent. Several bus stops within a 5-minute walk provide access to routes covering all parts of the city. The mainline rail station is just 2 minutes away on foot, with direct links to surrounding towns, Brighton Main Station, and Central London — making commuting or day trips very straightforward. Living on the Street Living on this street is comfortable and practical. All bins from the building are placed in the bin store and collected weekly by the council, which keeps the area tidy. On-street parking is limited, but noise levels are minimal as the street is set back from the main road. There can be a little background noise from the nearby bus garage, and foot traffic does increase at times due to the station, but it is not disruptive. Importantly, I’ve not witnessed any anti-social behaviour since moving in, which adds to the overall sense of safety and community.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management has always responded quickly and professionally to any issues I’ve raised. Communication is clear, and matters are dealt with in a timely and efficient way. On the rare occasions something has needed attention, it’s been resolved without unnecessary delays, which gives a real sense of confidence in how the property is run.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing I wish I had known before moving in is how handy the location really is — being just a 2-minute walk from the mainline rail station and only a few minutes from shops, pubs, and cafés makes day-to-day life much easier than I expected from the viewing alone. I’d also mention that parking is quite limited on the street, so if you have a car it’s worth looking into permits or nearby alternatives in advance. A tip I’d share with a new neighbour is to take advantage of the independent pubs and cafés nearby — they really add to the friendly, community feel of the area.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is great; it’s very central with a lot of things within five minutes walk, and almost everything within 10. The only things that are further and might need a commute are the GP surgery, fresh butchers and bakery that sells fresh bread. The area is loud for either bus traffic as it’s in front of the bus stop or for people on weekend nights - but I don’t mind as it is a city centre and the double glaze windows let only minimal noise through. I witness a lot littering but the city communal services are doing a great job with that; and there isn’t much I can do with people (mostly residents) smoking under my window. Transport is 10/10, with a range of buses, mainline stations and a subway. It’s not this location specific but a Glasgow thing - Sunday transport starts late and the public transport have a range of different payment and ticketing methods. I don’t need parking but I was made aware that there are no space available within the development. Bin collection are a bit of mess - neighbours don’t know how to segregate waste and the refuse ends up looking like a health hazard.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building management has been very responsive with f2f and email queries. Organising viewing was very easy and very accommodating. Communication between the viewing and moving in was a bit glitchy. And now that I’m here, any admin query is very responsive. The maintenance team, a one-person team, is very friendly and works across different sites, so if a repair is not urgent, there will be a wait.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would definitely recommend viewing in person or by proxy; virtual viewing is cute and the guide phenomenal, but a vibe check of the space and having a feel for it is still better. If I did see it in person, I probably wouldn’t move in - but now that I’m here, I will stay for at least two years. And the second thing is the Homebox scheme for heating and hot water - I’m on it, but I still don’t understand it and I feel it lacks transparency. I wish there was more information about it. I have experience with community heating/hot water, but I’ve never seen a setup like this.
