Description
Quality oak flooring is in the entrance hall which is wide and has a useful double cupboard which houses the Gas fired combination boiler. The kitchen/breakfast room is fitted with a modern range of units with extensive work surfaces, built-in appliances including a dishwasher, washing machine, Rangemaster five ring gas hob with double oven and grill with extractor above. Space for an American-style fridge/ freezer, larder cupboard and extensive floor cupboards. There is a central island with further storage and extended breakfast bar. This is not fixed and can be moved if required. Tiled floor with underfloor heating. The room is very light as there are Velux windows in a vaulted ceiling, window to the rear and an opening through to the sitting room which has a large picture window enjoying the views over the woodland. There is a central fireplace housing a wood burning stove. A nice square room for furniture with oak flooring. Also from the kitchen is an archway into the garden room which has a lantern roof, solid walls on two sides and bi-fold doors on the other two sides which lead out to a very private terrace.
The main bedroom suite has been added to the back of the original bungalow and is very large with plenty of space for a super king bed and additional furniture with oak flooring. Bio-fold doors open onto the terrace and Velux windows allow additional light in. There is a walk-in dressing room with fitted cupboards and an en-suite bathroom with a quality suite incorporating a bath with central tap, rain shower and hand shower, a wash basin and w.c built into vanity units above which is a medicine cabinet with mirror and touch lighting. There are two other king size bedrooms, one with range of built-in wardrobes, and a normal double bedroom. The family bathroom has an easy access to a large walk-in shower with rain head and additional shower head. Once again all recently fitted with a w.c and wash basin set into vanity units above which is a medicine cabinet with mirror door and touch lighting.
Outside: The terrace abuts the back of the house and sleepers terrace the garden to two further levels for easy maintenance. The top level has fantastic views across the woodland. The Gym or Home Office is at the top connected to fibre broadband and has been extremely well built with cedar cladding, electric heating, full insulation, double glazed doors and windows. Attached is a Garden Room which is ideal for storing cushions, having a bar and fridge as there is full power. This is adjacent to a decked terrace for entertaining.
At the side of the house is a very substantial workshop/shed with electric and power. A side gate leads to the front of the house with a pathway with a few steps, which is easier access for those with walking aids. The driveway is laid with brick and can comfortably park four cars, six if necessary. There are external lights and power points and a door to the Tandem Double Length Garage with power and light.
Services: Mains water and drainage. Gas Central Heating. Tax Band D.
Springwood Road runs parallel to the High Street and backs onto a large woodland which then leads to the Cuckoo Trail and connects to a lot of countryside walks. The road gently slopes down, joining Streatfield Road and into the High Street. Cross in Hand Primary school is within easy walking distance and Heathfield Community College does have a bus running to it but a lot of the children walk. Heathfield has a very good range of local shops, restaurants, takeaways and cafés. There is a central church and others on the outskirts. There is a local pub in the town and also two in Old Heathfield. There is a Sainsbury's, Waitrose, and Co-op supermarket. On the edge of town is a petrol station, tennis club, gym and pool. The buses run regular services to Tunbridge Wells, Eastbourne, Etchingham Station, Brighton, Lewes and Uckfield. The closest main line stations are at Stonegate (7 miles) London Bridge, Charing Cross and Cannon Street. Crowborough 8.6 miles Victoria Line and London Bridge and Buxted 6.6 miles on the same line.
Directions: On the High Street is a freestanding clock. Turn up the road by this into Streatfield Road. Go to the end and bear right, and the bungalow is the third on the right.
