Barney is a small rural village, eight miles from the North Norfolk coast and situated approximately half way between Fakenham and Holt, both of which offer a full range of shops and amenities. The surrounding countryside is undulating and well wooded and there is a supermarket/filling station on the edge of Bale-some two miles away. The popular Georgian market town of Holt is around 5 miles away. The centre of Holt comprises mainly individual shops and businesses where a friendly and personal service still remains. The town is also home to Gresham's public school. The county city of Norwich is just over 20 miles distant from where there is an international airport and a fast rail service to London, Liverpool Street.

Directions
Leave Holt on the A148 road towards Fakenham. Follow this road for around four miles and you will enter the village of Thursford. After passing the Crawfish Thai Restaurant take the next left hand turning signposted Melton Constable. Take the first right turning signposted to Barney. Proceed into the centre of the village and after passing the sign to the village playing fields you will find the cottage on the right hand side.
