This stone cabin was originally used to dry chestnuts, and known regionally as a ‘secadou'. It has been beautifully restored and adapted as a small living space for off-grid holidays. A haven of peace, it would be perfect for holidays in the forest, but it is not adapted for year-long independent living since it is too small : ground floor 12m2, mezzanine 4m2. Located in the mountains above Lespinassière, not far from Caunes Minevois, and surrounded by forest, the cabine is accessible by 4x4 vehicle.
The cabin has a reliable water source installed, which arrives by pipe from a captage in a mountain stream. There is currently no electricity but it would be possible to install solar panels. There is currently no toilet, but it would be possible to create a ‘dry toilet' adjacent or near to the building.
Part of the land is a patch of Corsican pine, which has reached maturity and could be sold as timber.
