Ref. Casa Heike - Marsala - Just inland from Sicily's west coast, midway between Trapani and Marsala, Casa Heike is a charming escape into nature in a fantastic location.


TRADITIONAL CHARM AND MODERN, SUSTAINABLE ENERGY
The one-bedroom cottage is divided almost exactly into two halves, each with its own bathroom. On one side is the living room, with a modern kitchen fitted along one wall and plenty of space for relaxing and dining. Off this is a bathroom with a walk-in shower. On the other side is the large bedroom, with an en-suite bathroom that features a tub, and direct access onto the patio outside. It would be possible to create two mini-apartments with ease.

Outside you will love the spacious and green grounds, measuring 9,000m2 and filled with old olive trees and other fruit. The immediate surroundings of the house have been turned into a lovely garden filled with herbs, lavender and flowers, as well as a shady area in which to eat outdoors. An unobtrusive spiral staircase leads up to the flat roof terrace, where a huge 8kW of electricity is generated by the home's solar panels, which are connected to a battery and also heat your water sustainably and at no cost. Tucked away in one corner of the plot is a small wooden cottage that offers another bedroom and a bathroom.


A QUIET LOCATION WITH AN INCREDIBLE RANGE OF NEARBY ATTRACTIONS
From the adrenaline of the Mediterranean's leading kite-surfing spot to the more sedate pleasures of Sicily's biggest collection of vineyards and wineries, the road along the island's west coast from Trapani to Marsala has something for everyone. The ancient Phoenician island city of Mozia, the drama of Medieval hilltop Erice, the beautiful baroque old towns of the two great cities and the salt pans that line much of the coast combine to provide an unmissable feast for all the senses.

All of this and more can be found right on the doorstep of Casa Heike, with nothing we've just mentioned more than a forty minute drive away. We've not even mentioned the Aeolian islands, the ancient temple and theatre at Segesta or the fabulous nature reserve of Lo Zingaro, only slightly further afield.


ALL THE ESSENTIALS ON YOUR DOORSTEP
While the immediate neighbourhood of the property is extremely quiet, a variety of shops and amenities can be found within walking or cycling distance in the villages that surround the property on all sides. Further afield the town of Paceco and the twin cities can provide everything you need, and Palermo is only an hour's drive away. The closest international airport, Trapani-Birgi, is just a five minute journey.
