Description
Description
A detached chalet bungalow, probably built in the 1960’s, having rendered elevations above a Purbeck stone plinth under a tiled roof. The property has been well maintained, and has the benefit of gas fired central hearting, UPVC double glazing, modern kitchen, and modern bathroom and shower rooms. The accommodation and plot size offer huge scope for a buyer to improve, extend or possibly even replace the existing dwelling, subject of course to any necessary permissions being obtained.
A glazed front door with side screens opens into the entrance hall. The light and spacious sitting room has a pine fire surround with gas coal fire and French doors overlooking the garden, leading onto a sunny terrace. From the sitting room a doorway leads into the dining room with return door to the kitchen. The kitchen/breakfast room has a fitted range of units with butcher’s block worktops, a Smeg range cooker, an integrated fridge and a larder cupboard. An opening leads into the utility room with a range of units and sink, with plumbing and space for a washer and dryer. A door opens in the large conservatory/sun room running across the rear with doors to the garden and a log burner. On the ground floor is the generous main bedroom with two windows and fitted wardrobes, two further double bedrooms, the modern family bathroom with bath, basin and WC, and adjoining shower room with glazed shower, basin and WC.
Stairs lead up to a small landing area and to the large fourth bedroom, with sloping ceilings, dormer windows and a large walk in wardrobe. There is also a useful loft room/study which has been used as an occasional bedroom, with desk, and small side dormer window.
Outside
The property occupies a generous plot that extends to about an acre. A driveway provides parking leading to the integral garage with electric roller shutter door, gas fired boiled and useful store room/ workshop area. To the rear is a further store. There a further parking area to the side of the garage ideal for storage of a boat or motorhome. The secluded gardens are a particular feature, and are mostly laid to lawn, with many mature shrubs and trees providing a delightful leafy setting. There is a sunny paved terrace at the front and many other areas from which to enjoy the peaceful setting. A variety of mature trees at the rear provide privacy and the gardens attract a variety of birds and other wildlife.
