Description
Kentish Town is where the traditional and contemporary coexist beautifully, it's the best of both worlds, you will immediately feel part of the community as well as being close to the heart of London too, two tube stations, overground connections and buses, with King's Cross/St Pancras nearby too, you have speedy access to Luton, Gatwick, the south coast and The Eurostar which wizzes you to Paris and mainland Europe too!
This is more than just a top floor flat, it's one of the top 2 bedroom 914.93 sqft flats on the market in London right now!
Even its front door is something special and this is just a taster for what follows... It is one of three flats within the building, a former school and retail building as the current owner enthuses: "There are only three flats in the building so it's not too crowded and you get to know the neighbours too, who are all very nice too".
The ceiling heights are especially generous for a top-floor space, which just adds to the light and airiness of the whole property.
The main bedroom offers views out onto the beautiful conservation area of Rochester Road it also offers large sash windows (which are all double-glassed) ample built-in wardrobe space, with antique doors which are Indian in origin.
The second bedroom is a large double too, the bathroom is generous in proportions and fitted out beautifully. The kitchen/diner is immaculate too, with yellow doors and turn-of-the-century French tiles. The structurally beautiful and distinctive divider between the kitchen and the living room is the result of a happy accident, the owner's recount: "It has the charm of history and our personal touch! The wooden beams separating the kitchen and the living room were a surprise we were not expecting to find when we pulled a wall down - we decided to keep them to add charm to the space." The living room is as light and airy as the rest of the premises whilst generously proportioned too, throughout there are wooden period floors, which just add to the rightness of the whole feel of the property.
The current owners say their favourite thing about the area is: "Kentish Town is a vibrant neighbourhood with a good mix of new trendy shops and cafes, estates and people who've lived there all their life. We love it! We have a son and we had plenty of parks and playgrounds to keep him entertained: Rochester Park, Cantelowes Garden, Regent's Park and of course Parliament Hill which has a weekly farmers market. The canal is a great walk from Kentish town to kings cross (20min) or towards the zoo and Regent's Park. Of course, the Camden Market is always entertaining - the 'punks bridge' is a must! The Kentish Town sports centre has got all the gym, swimming pool, and classes you need to keep you fit and the Talacre Centre has a good soft play area for kids".
On top of all these facilities on the doorstep they also are great fans of the many small local businesses which serve the community too: "Just across the Road is Pepita Café in the record shop: Andres is Colombian, he has great coffee and is super friendly! He's transformed the space and the courtyard at the back is great to relax or even work! Other excellent coffee places nearby include: Fields Beneath (vegan), Hidden, Kentish Town Stores, Kossofs (amazing bread and pastries) and for what we think are the best pizzas in the UK: go to Pizzeria di Camden on Royal College Street, the owner trained in Italy and his pizzas are a dream (stone baked with wooden fire) plus Anima e Cuore is an excellent unpretentious but sophisticated restaurant."
And finally, what will you miss the most about living here? " Kentish Town is a village and we'll miss bumping into friends while shopping! It's a very friendly area and its location is super convenient. We'll miss waking up and letting the sun into our bedroom in the morning. We'll miss the warmth and charm of the flat." they conclude.
