Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

This building is in a perfect location it is not too deep into city centre but just on the outskirts which is perfect. There is many restaurants and shops around it and it is so easy to get into city centre and Newstreet station with the tram that has a stop just outside the building. There is also another station called five ways that’s a ten minute walk away that takes you to UoB in 3 mins. It is a very good and convenient location. However, since there are many clubs and bars on the road there can be some noise on the weekend at times but it’s not terribly loud you just have to keep your windows closed. The workers here are really helpful and kind especially Tayla, Charlotte, Moses and Peter.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They were very helpful and responded right away. I had an issue with my fridge and they came and fixed it that same day. They are always available on the app to answer any queries

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Make sure to bring a sleep mask because the blinds don’t block out all the sunlight.

    Manager's response

Thank you Maariyah- we are really happy to know that you are having a positive experience at The Mercian.

    Sept 2025

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Broad Street in Birmingham is a very nice place to live. It is close to the city centre and easy to get around. There are frequent buses and a tram that go straight to the centre, which is very convenient. The area feels lively and busy. It can be a little noisy on weekends because many people come here, but most of the time it is fine. The reception team is very nice especially Moses and Peter on the night team

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very professionally and timely with everything. The management is excellent

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known how busy the area can get on weekends, as it can be a little noisy at night. It is good to know this before moving in so you can be prepared.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Despite the building being in a nice area there is drunken issues in the evening and nights connected to nightlife venues next door .

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

No. The bin chutes are still not available and locked out for us.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Everything is good as I move out I am okay with move in and move out of building. See everyone soon

    Manager's response

    Sept 2025

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It’s a very nice location with plenty of choices in food to choose from in a central location of Birmingham. There’s good transportation all round but sometimes can be heavy with a lot of traffic around rush hour. There’s a lot of bars and such in the area so be aware of noise on weekends

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very well and very professional all round. The management have always been excellent

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There’s no parks or anything like that in the area if you like going for walks or have a dog.

    Manager's response

Thank you Amar - we really value your feedback. Great to know that you have had a positive experience at The Mercian. I wonder if you have found Edgbaston Reservoir or Cannon Hill Park to take your dog for a walk, both lovely...We really appreciate your time. THANK YOU
