Description

Flint Cross is a hamlet of period and more contemporary properties situated to the north of the North Hertfordshire village of Barley and just to the south of the A505 Royston/Newmarket road. The university city of Cambridge is about fourteen miles away and the mainline station in Royston is within easy reach and has regular services to London Kings Cross. There is also access to the M11 at Duxford and A505 links to the A10 and A1M.

Damson Cottage is a barn style home constructed about nine years ago with weatherboarding under a pitched and slate roof. The building complies with regulations and is highly insulated with double glazed windows. The front door leads to the sizeable sitting room over 19ft long, there are double bedrooms at either end of the house, one with an en suite. At the back of the building there is a kitchen with sink, hob and a range of base and wall storage cupboards which leads to a dining area, which could easily be incorporated into the kitchen. Beyond the kitchen there is a study.

Outside, a gravelled driveway from the B1368 leads past a number of similar properties to an allocated parking area for two cars. The garden is about 100ft wide by about 25ft deep. In one corner there is a timber garden shed. The front of the building faces south and there is a generous area of west facing garden with a view out over fields.

Flint Cross is a small hamlet of properties sitting to the south of the A505 Royston/Newmarket Road and is approximately six miles from Junction 10 of the M11 motorway. There are a number of notable villages in the area including Fowlmere, Thriplow and Barley. Access to the west can be gained from the A10 which is only about 5 miles on the outskirts of Royston, which has a mainline station with services to London.
