The main house is habitable but does need some finishing off.

The commune of Châtignac is a thriving village with lots of activities and is very welcoming to newcomers.
Chalais, fifteen minutes away, has a supermarket, Lidl, builder's merchant, grain store and garden centre with horse supplies.
Angoulême, forty minutes away, has all the large stores, including equestrian ones, and the TGV rail station.
Bordeaux, one hour twenty away, is a UNESCO world heritage city with the international airport of Mérignac and a wealth of cultural sites and events (including international horse events!)
