Description
The Tour
This apartment lies on the building’s fourth floor, which is reached via stairs. Its private front door opens to the core of the apartment: an airy, open-plan living space that opens to a wonderful balcony.
The entire space is grounded with light oak floorboards and warmed by underfloor heating. A pocket of Farrow and Ball's orange, 'Charlotte's Locks', behind fitted shelves in the living room is a playful, uplifting touch. The colour is repeated in the kitchen, where white units and black granite countertops are paired with integrated appliances, including a Bosch oven, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer.
All three bedrooms are uniquely well-appointed, with built-in storage, soft carpet and en suites. The principal room has a bath, while the other two rooms have walk-in showers. The two largest bedrooms have bay windows that usher in plenty of natural light.
Outdoor Space
Elevated high above the street, the balcony is a wonderful perch to watch the world below go by. It has room for potted plants and a table and chairs for fuss-free outdoor dining.
The Area
Granville Court is remarkably well-placed for access, on foot, to some of London's best culinary spots. There are plenty of cafés and restaurants in nearby Notting Hill, including Natoora, Hagen, Canteen, and the Goldbourne Deli. The Pelican is also nearby, as is the ever-popular Layla. The Electric Cinema, The Gate Theatre and Electric House are a short distance away, along with Portobello Market.
Just around the corner from the apartment is where Portland Road meets Clarendon Cross, which transforms into a pedestrianised street. Here, a parade of shops and restaurants are clustered around mature olive trees. Florists, interior designers, cafés, galleries, clothing shops and ceramicists populate this village-like corner of the neighbourhood. Six Portland Road is of particular note, a local restaurant specialising in low-intervention wines and modern European cuisine.
Green spaces are aplenty in the area. Holland Park, one of London’s finest, is a short walk south and has tennis courts and a Japanese garden. Kensington Gardens is a slightly longer walk west and is home to the Serpentine Galleries and the James Pennethorne-designed Italian Gardens of Hyde Park.
The conveniences of Westfield London are also close at hand, and the Soho House members’ club, White House City, is a short walk away from the apartment.
There are some excellent schools nearby in both the state and independent sectors. Within walking distance are Thomas Jones Primary School, La Petite Ecole Bilingue, Kensington Aldridge Academy and Notting Hill Prep.
Ladbroke Grove and Holland Park Underground stations are both close by for travel across the city. There are also plenty of good bus routes in addition to great road connections.
