Freehold
Description
The house delivers five bedrooms (all doubles - nice!) and two bathrooms. The cherry on top is a low-maintenance, part-walled SE-facing garden.
In the front door and a double-reception stretching over 24 feet sits off to your left. Fresh white walls and recessed lights are great decisions. Custom-made shutters feature to the front bay window, and smart and wide solid oak boards sit underfoot - these roll through into the huge kitchen/diner (which stretches nearly 19 feet by over 14). This is the space you'll be in a lot! Either as a family or when entertaining.
Folding doors open all the way, at the foot of the room, and large skylight windows over the former side-return add to the already fabulous light (the room faces south-east). A long bank of slick, white and handle-free kitchen units grace one wall, paired with glazed green metro-tiles. The garden has both decked (following the flow of the internal floor boards) and faux-lawned areas, with established borders.
Up the stairs and from the half-landing you have a bedroom to the back of the house, of over 10 feet by over 9. Adjacent is the sleekest of windowed bathrooms (recently done), with independent shower.
Up to the landing proper, and the master bedroom takes the width of the house - at 15 feet by 11 feet. Another double bedroom sits behind this, at 11 feet by over 9.
Up again for double number four - this time at over 11 feet by nearly 9, then some more stairs to the loft suite, which is beautifully-done, and gives you a large bedroom of over 17 feet by over 9 feet, and an en suite shower room (with clever sliding door for access). There is easily-accessible eaves storage up here, too.
Getting around? Peckham Rye station (Fare Zone 2) will get you to work or to friends/engagements/shopping in central London very easily.
Kids of thinking of? Local schools are really good round this way and include The Belham and Bellenden primaries, plus St John's & St Clement's. The Villa Nursery and Pre-Preparatory School (2-7) is also highly regarded, on nearby Lyndhurst Grove.
Your most local parks include Peckham Rye Park and Common (walk eight minutes) and Warwick Gardens (10).
Bellenden Road is close for such delightful eateries and drinkeries as Artusi, Ganapati, The Begging Bowl, Ganapati, The Sourcing Table and Made of Dough. Petitou cafe on Choumert Road is ace for coffee plus people-watching. Local pubs include The Victoria Inn, The Montpelier, The White Horse and The Gowlett.
Peckham's main high street - Rye Lane - is close as well, for trendy hangouts such as Peckham Levels and The Bussey Building & Copeland Park complex, as well as having handy high street shops, a great-value cinema (Peckham Plex), and fruit and veg stalls.
Independent shops on Bellenden Road include Review bookstore, The General Store, Flock & Herd butchery and Life of Fish. Gaia Pilates is another good spot to note, and you have two good hairdressing salons (and even a dog grooming place).
Venturing just a little further, Lordship Lane is only a 12 minute walk for more options. Camberwell, Nunhead, Dulwich Village and Herne Hill are also no great distance.
