Sellers Story - We have had a happy and peaceful four and half years living in this house. It has a ‘nice warm feeling’, that friends and family point out when they visit and this is what we felt when we first looked around it. We have lived in Finham for many years and were drawn to the area because of the outstanding local school. We moved to this house as we were seeking a detached property and all the benefits this would bring. Inside, the house is very quiet and serene, the rooms are bright and airy and the large carport and garage are great spaces. The rear garden is south facing and we have cultivated it over the years to provide many beautiful flowers & plants throughout the year. The garden is not overlooked and makes for a quiet, restful environment for sitting, dining and sunbathing.
The kitchen diner is the hub of the house, filled with natural light and seating options so that conversations can be continued whilst cooking. The patio doors provide a lovely view of the garden and with the warmth of the sun, it is a cosy spot to sit even in the winter. We have lots of birds visiting the garden so we like to keep a pair of binoculars close at hand.
In a close second place comes the living room. It is a great size and can comfortably hold our large extended family. The house is set back from the road and is screened with planting, this provides privacy and seclusion.
We have enjoyed much socialising in the house and garden, the large living room & diner with the patio doors open enables guests to spread out and mingle. Celebrating our children’s 18th birthdays around a firepit in the rear garden as well as the many large family Christmas gatherings are are some of our fondest memories.
Living in Brentwood Avenue gave us the confidence to know our two children were safe when out and about. They both gained a great education at Finham Park School, which is easy walking distance and they are now in the next stage of their education at university. We are on the edge of the city and have enjoyed some lovely local walks. The walk from Baginton to Stoneleigh across the farmers fields is particularly nice, passing sheep and horses throughout. We have great local amenities including a highly regarded medical centre, community library and mixture of shops including an M&S for those special treats. We have a super dog grooming parlour at the end of the road that we will miss as well as a handy field that is great for a few laps with the dog. We have enjoyed the good road links enabling easy travel and the great bus route that provided our children with safe, independent travel.
Things we will miss- Friendly neighbours who never fail to bring in our bins every week! The feeling of safety in the community. We made many improvements to the house when we moved in and will miss the large airy rooms and the serenity the house provides. Along with attic insulation we recently added cavity wall insulation to ensure the house retains heat and is as economic as possible. We will miss watching the garden coming into bloom in the spring as well as the changing colours of the leaves in the autumn. We love wrapping lights around the trees in the front garden at Christmas and stringing lights across the front of the house. We will miss driving home and pressing the remote on the garage door and driving straight into the carport eliminating the risk of getting wet, as well as never having to deice the windscreen!
We are selling our lovely house because our children are now both at university and as ‘Cov kids’ ourselves we would like to experience life elsewhere. We have aging parents living in Shropshire and intend to move a little closer to them to provide support as well as enjoy living in a more rural location.
