Tucked within an exclusive game reserve, where the rhythm of nature sets the tone for everyday living, this elegant three-bedroom thatched retreat offers an escape unlike many others.
Romantic and refined, the home blends the raw beauty of the African bush with sophisticated, earthy elegance. Step inside and be embraced by the warmth of an expansive open-plan living and dining space, where a grand open hearth invites lingering conversations and fireside stories.
Double volume and natural textures echo the surrounding wilderness, while large windows frame breath taking views down a peaceful valley where wildlife roam freely—graceful and untamed. Mornings begin with golden sunrises that pour over the horizon, flooding the home with a soft, amber light.
From the comfort of your covered wooden deck, savour your coffee as the land awakens. By evening, uncork something special and gather around the barbeque under a tapestry of stars, serenaded by the distant sounds of the wild. Due to the presence of majestic resident wildlife within the home site area, walking is not permitted - but within these boundaries lies a rare kind of intimacy with nature, observed from the safety and comfort of your secluded vantage point.
Each carefully crafted room offers views of the surrounding fynbos environment and bathrooms are designed for luxurious enjoyment. This is not merely a residence, it's an experience - crafted for those who seek romance, serenity and a profound connection with the land. A soul-stirring refuge that redefines the meaning of coming home.
Location
Nestled along South Africa’s scenic Garden Route, Mossel Bay is a vibrant coastal town known for it's rich maritime history, golden beaches and dramatic views of the Outeniqua mountains. As you travel inland toward Gondwana Game Reserve, the landscape shifts from seaside charm to rolling hills and fynbos-covered plains, offering a stunning transition into the wild heart of the Western Cape. Just under 30 km from town, Gondwana’s 11,000-hectare reserve welcomes you with free-roaming Big Five wildlife and sweeping vistas - an unforgettable blend of luxury and nature.
Directions
On the N2 bypassing Mossel Bay towards Cape Town, pass the Engen One Stop (on your left) and the Total fuel station (on your right). Approximately 200m from the Total fuel station, turn right on to the R327 to Herbertsdale/Mossdustria. Travel on this road for 14.5kms – cross over the railway line and stay on the road. Turn right at the Gondwana Game Reserve road sign (large brown sign). Continue straight over the cattle grid and keep right at the fork on the dirt road. The Main Gondwana entrance gate will be on this road (3.2km from the fork).
