Location:
Montpezat-sous-Bauzon is a charming, peaceful village in the UNESCO Ardèche National Park. 

There’s a beautiful12th century church and lots of historic stone houses, of which this is one. Within the village is a bakery, butcher, supermarket, pharmacy, 2x cafés, 2x restaurants. The Auberge de Montpezat has excellent reviews and is a real highlight of the village, serving locally-sourced traditional dishes. 

There’s a small but very friendly and welcoming community of around 900 inhabitants. 

The village is surrounded by volcanic landscapes, dramatic gorges and winding rivers, making this the perfect playground for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits, including hiking, wild-swimming, road and mountain biking, via ferrata, kayaking, canyoning etc.

One of the main attractions of this region of France is the climate. It’s a region of strong seasonal contrasts with warm, sunny summers and winter’s where snowfall is quite common. Unlike many areas of southern France the summer heat is tempered by the elevated position, meaning that temperatures are much more pleasant in the summer months.
