Description
The interior is superb. Gone is the hallway and separate lounge diner. Now you have a lounge with dining area and kitchen in an open plan arrangement that allows for an outlook over the garden. There is now either a separate dining room or third bedroom off the lounge area. Alternatively, this new front facing room could be your lounge and the lounge area your dining area. Alternatively again, our seller tells us the wall between the two is not a load bearing one and could be removed for an even larger family room/living suite. Now there will be much more space and a pleasing countryside lane outlook.
The kitchen is made from solid timber and features natural timber interiors to the units. The surface is marble and features an inset stainless steel sink with mixer tap and etched drainer.
The kitchen benefits further from an integrated "Hoover" washer dryer, a fridge freezer that is incorporated into the right hand door of the larder unit, and the all important "Kenwood" dish washer. Last but certainly not least is the "Smeg" 90cm Range floor standing cooker with a 5 ring induction hob and 2 ovens. The kitchen enjoys a pleasant outlook over the garden and opens onto the patio.
To the other side, Oak doors open to storage and to two double bedrooms. Both are a good size. The rear facing of the two has been given the special treatment and now features glazed doors that open onto the garden. There is also a recessed area for a wardrobe or dressing table with down lighters. What was the smaller third bedroom is now an ensuite shower room to this master bedroom and has been tastefully fitted with a glass and tile shower cubicle with an inset chrome thermostatic shower, a two drawer vanity unit with basin, chrome mixer tap and a WC. This useful ensuite has been finished with white Venetian blinds.
The bathroom has also been replaced with this fantastic "Heritage" four piece suite that comprises of a claw foot roll top bath with a telephone style chrome mixer tap mid-way having a hand shower attachment. A glass and tile shower cubicle with glass door and chrome inset thermostatic shower, a pedestal style wash basin with chrome taps, and a WC makes up the suite. Timber panelling and white Venetian blinds finish this lovely bathroom.
All the rooms have been laid to the same Oak effect flooring for consistency and all walls and ceilings were replastered or reskimmed for a brand new finish. Both front facing rooms and the full height panels to the side of the new front door also have white shutters.
The garden is one we think you are going to like. Being close to the head of a cul de sac, the garden could be described as a special place - a good sized outdoor space that enjoys a lot of peace and quiet with just the sound of birds to enjoy. There is access to the garage/workshop that might be converted to a garden room with patio/bi-folding doors and a store that is found to the back. What we really like about this garden is the brick walling of the barn conversion and the pond with space for sitting that could be converted to a raised patio/decked relaxing/entertaining area.
In our opinion, Sandrock offers a pleasant setting and a spacious bungalow with a practical layout for modern day living and for your friends and family gatherings. Combined with the picturesque village of Great Barrow that has won the aforementioned "Community Spirit Award" and "Community Pride" awards, there surely has to be a winning combination here.
