Batcombe has a popular pub, church and village hall. The village is 3 miles from Bruton, a small historic town in the foothills of the Brue Valley, The town enjoys businesses catering for every day needs such as a post office, general stores, library, gift shops, antique outlets, veterinary practice, doctors and dentists. There is a wide variety of restaurants and public houses, tea rooms and coffee shops. The popular Hauser & Worth Art Gallery and Gardens are on the outskirts of the town along with the Roth Bar and Grill. The Newt, Somerset is also close by.
There is good access to many of the popular independent schools and there are also excellent primary schools in neighbouring Upton Noble and Bruton. There is also a railway station at Castle Cary with direct access to London.
The cottage has an open plan living room with a wood burner. The kitchen is small but well fitted with an electric oven, a dishwasher and a fridge/freezer. There is a washing machine in an out building.
Upstairs are 3 bedrooms (2 doubles and 1 single bedroom), along with a bathroom with a shower over the bath and a second separate WC.
The back door leads to a long narrow back garden at the end of which are lovely southerly views over the valley.
Electric heating in addition to the wood burner which has a back boiler that heats some of the radiators.
