Pennington Lane is situated in the village of Lindal which is towards the southwest outskirts of Ulverston, an attractive market town in south Cumbria and in North West England.

Ulverston has a population of 11,678 (2011 Census) and is a popular market town offering a wide range of local retail and leisure services as well as a Booths Supermarket. There is a Railway Station on the Furness Line primarily operated by TransPennine Express from Barrow-in-Furness to Manchester Airport and also by Northern Rail Services from Barrow-in-Furness to Lancaster. Barrow-in-Furness is around 11 miles to the southwest, accessed via the A590 or alternatively on the A5087 Coast Road and has a population of 69,087 (2011 Census) offering further retail facilities, a number of large national supermarkets and employers including BAE Systems, Centrica and Kimberley Clark.
