Description

Located within GREAT ASHBY which offers a selection of shops, businesses and comprehensive amenities. There is also excellent access to London via the A1 junction 7 or 8 and the Stevenage station which provides access to Kings Cross.

Sellers View - Welcome to a home that offers more than just a place to live—it represents a lifestyle built around comfort, connection, and convenience. Situated on one of the most desirable roads in Great Ashby, this property provides a true retreat from the everyday rush. It’s a place where families grow together, neighbours become friends, and a sense of calm greets you each time you walk through the door. Our driveway has been a real bonus—especially when unloading shopping or during bad weather. As most homes on the road also have driveways, there’s plenty of potential for additional on-street parking, ideal for growing families or frequent visitors. Many of our neighbours have converted their garages into home offices, gyms, or cinema rooms—showing just how much potential this home has for flexible, modern living. The lounge is our oasis—a peaceful spot where we can unwind, watch the wildlife in the trees, and keep an eye on the children playing in the garden. The extension creates ample space for an eight-seater dining table, perfect for family meals, evening get-togethers, and festive celebrations. During the summer months, the patio doors let in a lovely breeze, and when it’s BBQ season, the space opens beautifully for entertaining guests. We love that the kitchen is separate from the living area—it means we can simply close the door and deal with any mess or cooking smells later! It features a classic shaker-style design with solid wood doors. If we were staying, we’d planned to refresh it with a new coat of paint and updated handles—a simple change that can make a big difference. A ground-floor cloakroom next to the garage adds everyday practicality, especially handy for young children or elderly visitors. All three bedrooms upstairs host built in wardrobes, and there's plenty of space for freestanding furniture. Having two bathrooms prevents the morning rush from having to wait for one another, we modernised our en-suite a few years back, hopefully providing less refurbishment costs for the lucky next homeowners."

Ricky's Perspective - Just a minute’s walk from the house, you’ll find Serpentine and Thirlmere Woods—a favourite spot for dog walkers and nature lovers alike. These woods are beautiful throughout the year, from carpets of bluebells in spring to the frosted branches of winter. Beyond them lies Pryor’s Wood, another peaceful escape where I’ve often spotted muntjacs, squirrels, and other wildlife over the years. Great Ashby District Park is another local gem, popular with runners and families. We’ve spent many sunny afternoons there having picnics and playing rounders—it’s a great place for children to burn off energy. The local shops are incredibly convenient for those last-minute ingredients or everyday essentials, and the takeaways are always busy in the evenings. The Chinese and fish & chip shops are both excellent, while Pivora Grill is a particular favourite in the area. When the weather’s warm, you can enjoy a scenic walk across the fields to the nearby village of Weston, where you’ll find welcoming pubs like The Cricketers, serving great pints, hearty Sunday roasts, and delicious stone-baked pizzas. For families, Round Diamond School—rated Outstanding by Ofsted—is even closer than the local shops. Busy Bees Nursery is also nearby and comes highly recommended by local parents, making this area ideal for young families.
