Description

On entering the home from the grand front porticoed entrance you are led through to a lovely reception/dining hall and through to a sitting room, study and full house height central atrium. The amazing ‘heart of the home’ kitchen/breakfast/living room is a must see, with its 25’ length which is great for family entertaining, along with a pantry and boot room leading into the grounds.

On the first floor is a fantastic principal bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and dressing room, a guest suite with en-suite shower room, three further double bedrooms and a family bathroom. Many of the bedrooms have amazing views across either the grounds or surrounding farmland.

It is worth mentioning that all windows to the front of the home have been fitted with secondary double glazing.

Outside

The home is approached via a sweeping gravel driveway which leads in two directions, firstly to the front of the house with parking for a number of vehicles, an electric charging point and a walled garden and hedging. Secondly, to the rear and onto a gated driveway in front of the triple garage, which has power, light and another electric charging point. The grounds in total amount to 0.71 acres and are laid out in a parkland setting with areas of lawn and a mature orchard which is bordered by mature hedging backing onto open farmland. Found in the garden is a large greenhouse and two additional potting sheds. Nearer the house are two terraces, one with power next to the detached home office which has WIFI and underfloor heating and is fully functioning as either a work from home space or alternatively a garden entertainment hub, and a second lower terrace next to the house, surrounded by flowering borders.

Situation

Chicklade is a pretty roadside village in the heart of rolling Wiltshire downland which has beautiful walking and good horse riding routes. The nearby village of Hindon has two public houses, a post office/shop, school, a church and a doctor’s surgery. More comprehensive facilities can be found in the Cathedral city of Salisbury and nearby towns of Shaftesbury and Warminster. The village is easily accessible to both the east and west via the A303. There are main line train stations at Warminster with direct access to Bath, Bristol and South Wales, and at Tisbury, Gillingham and Salisbury offering a fast direct train service to London Waterloo. There is a very good selection of schools in the locality in both the private and state sectors.
