Newmills is a small village in West Fife, on the south coast of Fife, between the Bluther Burn and Torryburn, overlooking Torry Bay on the Firth of Forth. Good road links: the Kincardine Bridge is nearby, and motorway access towards Edinburgh/Perth via the M90 is feasible. Bus services are available in and around the village. The name “Newmills” comes from a mill on the burn (stream) in the village, once a grain mill. In medieval times this would have been important for the local agricultural economy.
