Description

Not to be missed is this super extended semi-detached property on the edge of Bruton. It has been completely reconfigured and updated from its original small four-bedroom layout into a spacious three-bedroom family home. Upgrades include the installation of large windows throughout providing light-filled living spaces and uninterrupted countryside views, ground floor underfloor heating, reconfiguration of the ground floor, the addition of a driveway, and more!

Step through the main entrance door to the side of the property into the hallway with staircase to the first floor and doors off to cloakroom with WC and hand wash basin, sitting room, understairs cupboard, linen cupboard, and kitchen/dining.

The sitting room, now positioned to the front of the property, has wide new windows to flood the room with natural light and make the most of the stunning sunsets that fall across the open fields opposite.

To the rear is the beautiful kitchen and dining space, cleverly flipped from the original layout so that the morning sun pours in while you enjoy breakfast. The kitchen is fitted with bespoke elmwood cabinetry, marble worktops, modern double oven, seven-ring gas hob, extractor hood, integrated fridge, integrated freezer, and integrated dishwasher. There is a useful utility room off the kitchen. The dining area opens directly onto the garden through aluminium bi-fold doors that fold back completely, allowing the outdoors to feel like a natural extension of the home. The extension's rustic timber cladding has softened to a silvery tone, giving the whole rear elevation a warm, natural charm.

Upstairs, the layout has been thoughtfully redesigned to create three double bedrooms and a large family bathroom. The larger of the bedrooms is bedroom one, which overlooks the garden and has far-reaching tree-top views with King Alfred's Tower breaking through the canopy. Bedrooms two and three, from which Bruton high street can be seen, are good-sized doubles and enjoy plenty of natural light.

The modern bathroom is now an impressive, generous space featuring a large bathtub, separate walk-in shower enclosure, WC, and hand wash basin.

A newly installed loft ladder makes accessing the loft easy, offering excellent extra storage.

Outside, the front has been beautifully reshaped with a new driveway, an electric charge point, and soft rewilded landscaping cut into the slope to create natural borders. There is also an allocated parking space directly across the road, providing valuable extra convenience.

To the rear, there is a generous sized garden that has a large lawn bordered with shrubs and trees, new fencing on both sides, and a large concrete base ready for a patio of your choice which will be perfect for entertaining once completed. The superb views out towards Alfred's Tower and Stourhead woods make this a truly special outdoor space.

The whole house has been freshly rendered for improved insulation and a modern appearance, finished in a soft grey that can be painted or left neutral.

About Hunter French, Bruton

9 High Street, Bruton, BA10 0AB

Hunter French Estate Agents were formed in 2005 by Stephen Hunter and Karen Dumine both of whom had been working in corporate Estate Agency since 1996 and 1988 respectively.

They decided to join forces and opened an Estate Agency that actually focused on selling property rather than mortgages, overseas homes and insurances! The first office was opened on the busy London Road in Bath - covering Larkhall and the villages beyond.

In 2007 their second branch was opened in Corsham, followed by Devizes, Frome and Tetbury. In 2019 Karen Dumine headed up the new office in Bruton which has gone from strength, covering Bruton, Wincanton, Castle Cary and the surrounding villages. 2024 welcomed another new branch opening in Wotton - Under - Edge in Gloucestershire.

Karen has a wealth of incredible knowledge in the property industry. She has not only helped hundreds of people move in her career but has also been involved in property renovation, holiday lets, short term rentals - she has even written about property and been published in newspapers and magazines.

She is joined in the Bruton Office by Joolz Matthews and Joshua Manuel. Independent financial services are provided by Jeremy Blair and Jo Betts
