Description

Property Description: A beautifully presented and characterful Victorian detached home in the heart of Pilton with generous living space, charming period details, and delightful gardens that wrap around the property. Available to rent fully furnished.

This three-bedroom home has been thoughtfully arranged to make the most of its natural light and period features. An enclosed porch with part-glazed door opens into the entrance hall, where exposed floorboards and a painted wooden staircase with runner carpet set the tone for the rest of the house.

The double-aspect sitting room features a south-facing bay window and a wood-burning stove set within the original fireplace, with fitted cupboards and shelving to either side of the chimney breast. A further reception room, also with sash windows, is currently used as a study but could equally serve as a formal dining room or additional sitting room.

The dining room is a particularly bright and inviting space, with wooden floorboards and a bank of east-facing windows. There is a useful storage cupboard and a door that open to steps leading down to the front garden and a decked terrace, the perfect spot for a morning coffee. The kitchen links seamlessly with the dining room and provides a range of cabinets on three sides, a range cooker, space and plumbing for a dishwasher and washing machine, and a part-glazed side door offering easy access from the driveway. A downstairs WC is also located just off the dining room.

Upstairs, the half landing has a feature round window and space for a small desk, leading to a well-proportioned double bedroom and a spacious family bathroom. From here, stairs rise to two further double bedrooms, the largest of which has a built-in wardrobe and dual-aspect windows with a charming view of the village church.

Outside: The gardens wrap around three sides of the property, each area offering its own distinct character. To the north, accessed via the parking area, is a lawned garden with espalier fruit trees and a private decked seating area, which steps down to a paved terrace with planters. To the south, a lawned garden is enhanced by a beautiful cherry tree, while to the rear, a decked area provides an ideal spot for outdoor dining. There is an EV charging point installed also. A gravel driveway provides parking for two or more cars.

Location: The house is situated in the heart of the Pilton and is within walking distance of all the village amenities. Pilton lies between the towns of Glastonbury, Wells and Shepton Mallet and is known for its green spaces and pretty stone cottages, as well as the world famous Glastonbury Festival (for which the lucky purchaser of this property will get free tickets). As well as the festival, the village hosts several well-attended events throughout the year including the village flower show and fete. This thriving village has a shop, a fabulous pub with venue and garden, post office, playing fields (including skate park and tennis courts), church, chapel, playgroup, allotments, a community orchard and numerous clubs. The village is also home to The Pilton Stage and Village Hall which acts as a community venue for music, events & functions. There are also fabulous walks on your doorstep over the surrounding countryside. For more information visit
