ROSCIANO - PESCARA PROVINCE
Rosciano's hilltop position gives wonderful views of the Pescara river valley. It has a population of 3,790 and is 242 metres above sea level. Archaeological findings have shown that the area has been inhabited from pre-Roman times and it is also home to the ruins of a medieval fort.
On a practical note there is a good selection of shops including a mini market, butcher and baker. There is also a good choice of bars and restaurants.
Rosciano is famed for its production of wine and extra virgin olive oil. There are a number of wineries in the area and the quality of the wines are some of the best in Abruzzo.
For lovers of the outdoor life there are endless walking trails, cycling, canoeing, climbing, horse-trekking, skiing and much more.
Rosciano-s wonderful location is perfect for discovering Abruzzo-s treasures being just a few minutes from the sea, mountains and two National Parks (Gran Sasso and Maiella).
