Quinta da Chouza Agroturismo e Enoturismo has a unique setting and is crossed by a stream that ends in a magnificent private river beach belonging to the farm. Around it, the mill buildings, with waterfalls, allow you to enjoy a peaceful space surrounded by a leafy forest of oak trees and other ornamental trees.
The farm has a range of facilities, equipment, and complementary services, with a view to offering a complete and diversified tourist product.
It offers seven lodgings/rooms, distributed across three houses that are completely independent from each other. The main house has five rooms, and each mill house has one room, each with a private bathroom, three barbecues/equipped kitchens. Each house has an exclusive kitchen/barbecue area, outdoor swimming pool (10 meters by 5 meters), with sun loungers clearly identified for each house, as well as parasols and sun terraces, a small private river beach with a boat for short trips, a wide variety of animals, and space surrounded by vineyards, woods, and gardens.
The farm has an area of approximately 54,000 square meters (5.4 hectares), almost entirely fenced, part with a concrete wall and part with a treated wooden fence and posts.
2.4 hectares of vineyards, single cordon (2015), Alvarinho, Arinto, Trajadura, and Fernão Pires white grape varieties, and Padeiro de Basto for rosé.
0.6 ha of arbutus trees, 0.4 ha of green areas/lawns (next to the river beach, wine cellar, tasting room, and swimming pool), and 0.2 ha of small vegetable garden/fruit trees.
1.6 ha of woodland, with a wide variety of native and ornamental trees, the remaining area of the farm, 0.2 ha, is used for social areas, all accesses to the different buildings are paved in the Portuguese style.
Small building/shed for animals (area of approximately 50 m²).
Production and filling capacity for 18,000 bottles (6,000 for sparkling wine and 12,000 for wine), everything is done in the farm's cellar and with the farm's equipment, without resorting to outside resources.
Quinta da Chouza, located in Fermil de Basto, in the Basto sub-region of Vinhos Verdes, has the privilege of being a space blessed by a natural and idyllic terroir for producing high-quality white and sparkling wines under the CHÃO DO RIO brand. The wines produced here reveal a notable acidity, enveloped in striking floral notes with a persistence of citrus fruit, which together give the wine a harmonious elegance.
