Our home is our haven, filled with those personal touches that have made it special over the years but, time is a vicious mistress and there comes a point for all of us when you can have too much space and hoovering the stairs is simply not as easy or as much fun as it used to be, if it ever was...

Perhaps it is time to bow to the inevitable and start considering the possibilities of bungalow living, and preferably in somewhere, where someone else has already done all the hard work. If this sounds like you then this little gem could be the answer to most of your prayers.

Situated a pleasant stroll across open parkland from the massive Morrison's in Connah's Quay or, if your weekly shop is a bit much to carry, within a couple of minute's drive, this lovely home deserves your full attention.

It's a very neat two bedroom detached bungalow in a quiet residential setting, it offers a block paved area to the front which stretches the full width of the plot, giving a spacious parking spot for you and numerous visitors and where a low brick wall prevents it from feeling too exposed. A driveway continues past the home to the side positioned garage, which is accessed via a standard sized doorway, making it more of a workshop/storeroom because after all, who puts their car in there any longer?

Entering the home through the side "front" door, we come into the inner hall with its quality wood laminate flooring where the kitchen is found immediately on our right.

Beautifully finished, this kitchen is ideal to cater for the needs of the numbers of people likely to be living here. There are stylish fitted units to three of the walls with solid Quartz worktops that cover three walls for food prep or, all of the 21st Century gadgets that we've become so reliant on today. The room is kept bright and cheerful not only by the neutral colour scheme but also with plenty of natural light from the window overlooking the front 'garden'.

Adjacent to here and also overlooking the front of the home we find the lounge. Far larger than expected at nearly 18' long, this will accommodate some serious furniture. So, should you be downsizing to come here, you will minimise the emotional wrench of abandoning the family heirlooms, being able to move them straight in. Alternatively, should you favour a completely fresh start and have been seduced by the news of yet another closing down sale at DFS, there is space to allow for the modern trend towards vast settees. You can also comfortably fit a for seat dining table and chairs, so sensible dining can be offered in here too. As you see, this room is versatile.

Moving further along the hall we come to the modern and immaculately kept bathroom (as is the whole bungalow immaculate). This has been tiled from floor to ceiling and features a unitary lavatory and hand basin set into a system of storage cupboards and a huge walk-in shower of a scale that would not disgrace a wet room. No, it is not a huge room but there is everything you need and nothing you don't, all presented in a very attractive manner.

Towards the end of the hall we come to the main bedroom which is a bright, airy space offering a very pleasing view over the back garden. It has the added advantage of a double door walk-in wardrobe, complementing a further corner wardrobe unit with additional storage cupboards mounted above the head of the bed. This means, even the most determined fashionista should never be short of space....unless Imelda Marcos is a frequent visitor!

Finally, we come to the second of the bedrooms which, by virtue of its twin patio doors opening onto the rear garden, is actually a dual purpose space lending itself to the role of bedroom, study or post-domestic sulking room. Whatever use you select for it, you have a pleasantly bright room which is adequately sized for virtually any purpose.

Moving outside into the rear garden, here is a space that almost redefines the term 'maintenance free'. It has been mainly laid to dark coloured stone paving interspersed with Astroturf and with a large raised area of decking half covered by a very substantial and obviously professionally built covered gazebo, meaning that carousing round the BBQ continues whatever the weather. Any storage needs you have are catered for by the solid and well maintained garden shed and the way it has all been laid out is reminiscent of the communal areas of a high-end holiday complex. If you want any more from your back garden, you really are being awkward.

All in all this is everything you could ask for in a bungalow, and more. Far more spacious than you expect, it would allow someone to downsize from a larger property almost without noticing, and all while providing the level of comfort you are used to. Moving to a smaller home can be problematic, presenting challenges that are perhaps more emotional than real, but this is a home where a brief visit will allay those fears and show them for what they are. This is a home that is comfortable, well equipped, easy to maintain, conveniently located and in excellent condition.
