The Property
Duck Cottage is a delightful detached Grade II listed 17th Century stone and thatch cottage that was been extended during the 20th century. It enjoys a secluded position set back off the Main Street. The beautiful accommodation retains a wealth of charm and character, which is blended with modern-day living. The sitting room boasts a traditional inglenook fireplace with log burner, whilst the dining room has an exposed brick fireplace with fitted gas fire. Part of the cottage is thatched (straw, re-thatched in 2019) and part tiled. Complimenting the accommodation is a delightful mature garden, in all approximately 0.25 acres.

Location
Ailsworth, together with the village of Castor, are situated approximately 4 miles west of Peterborough city centre, amidst gently undulating open countryside. The villages offer a wide range of local facilities, including primary school, village hall, church, doctor's surgery and a number of public houses. There is easy access through to the A47 which in turn links to the A1. The charming market town of Stamford is some 9 miles to the northwest and offers a good range of educational and shopping facilities. Peterborough offers a high-speed rail link to London King’s Cross with a publicised journey time of approximately 50 minutes.

Outside
From Main Street, a gated path leads to a mature rose arbour, flanked by lawns to either side with well-stocked borders. To the rear of the cottage there is a terrace that enjoys the morning sun. To the side of the cottage there is a paved patio and barbeque/patio area. A five-bar gate gives access off Maffitt Road to gravel parking in front of the garage/studio.

Directions
From Peterborough, proceed West on the A47 towards Leicester. Follow the sign and turn off into Castor and continue through to Ailsworth. Proceed up Main Street and Duck Cottage is on the left-hand side. The garage and off-street parking for the cottage is accessed off Maffit Road.
