Sarteano is ideally place between Rome and Florence, 6 kms. from the A1 Autostrada and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful areas of southern Tuscany but what makes it so special is the wonderful community with a strong cultural heritage. There are two small museums, Etruscan tombs and a medieval centre with some notable buildings including the renaissance Theatre with an excellent theatrical Co. attached. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to satisfy every need and some very talented craftsmen. There are no tourist buses disgorging day trippers but rather a vivacious atmosphere with so many special events during the year that it would be hard to find a better place to be.
