This Reserve is visited by many professional and amateur naturalists, and is the location for numerous field classes for students from the University of Porto and the subject of research projects.

We also highlight the important refuge for amphibians in this Reserve, with the presence of 12 of the 22 amphibian species existing in Portugal. We can also find different species of mammals here.

You can also enjoy a beautiful walk in this region along the boardwalks that run from Azurara beach to Labruge beach.
