The location is unbeatable. You have incredible food and shopping at Coal Drops Yard and Granary Square right on your doorstep. Transport is flawless - being minutes from St Pancras and the Eurostar makes travel so easy. The area feels safe and vibrant, a perfect mix of buzz and convenience.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
The management team was exceptional. Any small requests I had were resolved immediately. Cosmin was always quick to help and very friendly.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I didn't realize how nice the walks along Regent's Canal would be. Despite being in central London, you have a perfect escape right on your doorstep.

King's Cross is a brilliant place to live. Coal Drops Yard is right on our doorstep with excellent restaurants, independent shops, and bars - we're spoiled for choice. Granary Square and the Regent's Canal offer lovely green spaces and waterside walks, perfect for unwinding. Transport couldn't be better: King's Cross and St Pancras give you access to practically anywhere in London and beyond. The building is adjacent to the train tracks, so you'll occasionally hear trains, but the double-glazed windows do a great job of keeping it to a minimum—it's rarely noticeable inside. As for Author's itself—the concierge team are genuinely wonderful. They remember your name, handle deliveries with care, and consistently go above and beyond to help with anything we need. It's made a real difference to our experience here and we're very grateful for them.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Building management has been very responsive. Any issues we've raised—whether maintenance or general queries—have been acknowledged quickly and resolved promptly. Cosmin and the concierge team are always helpful in coordinating and following up.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Having both King's Cross and St Pancras on your doorstep is even more useful than it looks on a map. Eurostar weekends become dangerously tempting.

Highlights for us: - Nursery Next Door: MEplace (which is excellent) - Low-Traffic Oasis: The main public areas (Granary Square, Coal Drops Yard) are beautifully designed and traffic-calmed, prioritising safe walking and cycling over cars. - With world-class amenities (e.g. Alma cafe / Waitrose / Everyman cinemas) and immediate access to the UK and Europe via its transport hub, King's Cross offers a perfect blend of calm community and global connectivity.

Issues are usually addressed immediately with a high level of service.

I never thought I would like my neighbors in London, but in the Author building you tend to appreciate them!

Living in King’s Cross has been great. The area feels vibrant and family-friendly, with plenty of cafés, restaurants and green spaces like Granary Square and Coal Drops Yard, which are ideal for quick outings with my 2-year-old. Transport links are excellent with multiple tube lines, national rail and Eurostar all nearby. Bus stop right outside and plenty of lime bikes around!
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Extremely fast at getting things sorted. Usually the same day or next .

Council tax set up is a little complicated as it is covered by two councils.

I love how the area is so close to kings cross and my office that it’s convenient for after work hangout’s.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
afrah at the concierge desk has been very prompt and helpful with any and all of my queries relating to package delivery, appliance induction services or in general with any queries.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
nothing that comes to mind. as someone who’s new to London, it would’ve been nice to see some food offerings in the kitchen from time to time, or maybe just some snacks.
