Description
The heart of the home is the stunning open plan kitchen and dining area, designed for socialising, entertaining, and day to day family life. Large windows and doors allow natural light to flood in, creating a bright and welcoming space. The dual aspect lounge provides a peaceful retreat and enjoys views over the garden.
Upstairs you will find 4 generous bedrooms two with their own en suite shower rooms, the others served by a stylish family bathroom. The proportions, layout, and finish combine to deliver a home that feels both luxurious and practical.
Outside, the wide frontage provides excellent parking for several vehicles in addition to a garage. The location is one of Spencers Wood’s strengths, with countryside walks on the doorstep and local shops within a short stroll. There is easy access to M4 junction 11 and Green Park, along with bus services to Reading from nearby stops. Spencers Wood itself is a charming country village to the south of Reading, known for its friendly community and rural surroundings.
From the owners:
We arrived in Spencer’s Wood in 2019 and settled in almost immediately. The bakery, chemist and One Stop are all just a short stroll away, and weekend breakfasts at Wellington Farm Shop quickly became a family ritual. Having a school and nursery within walking distance has made mornings with the kids so much easier, and over the years we’ve got to know people through pub quizzes, the village food fairs and simply bumping into familiar faces.
Most weekends you’ll find us outdoors. The River Loddon is in one direction, open fields in the other, and we often cycle over to The Elm Tree in Beech Hill for a post-ride treat. It feels peaceful and a little tucked away here, yet Reading is only fifteen minutes away and trains from Green Park or Mortimer make getting into London simple.
Inside the house, the kitchen has become its heart - the place everyone gathers, whether we’re cooking for friends or just spending time together as a family. The garden has been brilliant for us. It’s a sunny, generous corner plot and we’ve used it constantly: kids’ birthdays, barbecues, evenings in the hot tub watching the stars. The front garden is all ours as well, with plenty of space to park. Because the house sits slightly back from the development, it feels private at both the front and the back, yet still very much part of the friendly community around it.
It’s been a really lovely place to live, and we’re sure the new owners will enjoy it every bit as much as we have.
