SITUATION AND DESCRIPTION
The Abbeyfield Buckland Monachorum Society Apartments are situated at Pilcher's Field, an established residence in a quiet sought-after crescent, just a short walk to the open moorland and local shop/post office.

Abbeyfield is a charity run by volunteers set up to counteract this tendency to loneliness and isolation. It provides small 'family style' houses where older people unable or unwilling to live alone can find support and companionship without losing their independence and privacy. It is open to all according to need irrespective of sex, race, religion or financial circumstances.

The Abbeyfield Bucckland Monachorum Society has a house where nine residents live together with support from the House manager, the housekeeps and volunteers. Each resident has their own privately leasehold owned or rented furnished apartment, with a small kitchenette and an en-suite shower room, which they furnish and look after. The House Manager/house keeper serves a mid-day and evening meal in the dining room and is mindful of the general well being of the residents. Residents are supplied with food for breakfast of their choice, which they prepare and eat in their own rooms. There is also a guest room with en-suite shower room where residents may have friends and family to stay.

Pilcher's Field comprises a range of attractive apartments designed to provide facilities for Intermediate Care available as required for the over 55s. Each comfortable apartment has a living room with kitchen area, double bedroom and a shower/wet room.

Communal areas includes: formal dining room, toilets, lounge(s) and gardens.

Crapstone is a small village on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park with village shops and a post office. It is approximately 1 mile from the village of Yelverton which provides good shopping facilities. Plymouth is 9 miles distant and Tavistock 5 miles.
