Stourpaine is a picturesque and thriving village surrounded by lovely countryside straddling two National Landscape Areas (AONB’s). The village has a popular pub, The White Horse, a pretty C19th church, a village hall and playing fields with recently re-furbished tennis courts and pavilion which host well supported clubs and associations. There is direct access from the village on to the Dorset Trailway and the surrounding area provides for wonderful walking, riding and cycling, and the south coast is not much more than half an hour away at Poole Harbour, Sandbanks, Studland Bay and along Dorset’s renowned Jurassic Coastline. The majority of the essential amenities can be found nearby in Blandford which boasts an historic Georgian market square, M&S food hall, Lidl and Tesco superstores. Links to the surrounding towns are good with the business centres along the coast from Poole and Bournemouth through to Southampton and Portsmouth easily commutable. The A31 provides a quick link on the M27 and M3 up to London and Poole station has regular trains to London Waterloo (about 2 hrs. This part of Dorset has become popular because of the wide selection of schools at all levels. There is a successful primary school nearby in Durweston, a secondary school in Blandford and independent schools nearby include Bryanston (on the doorstep), Sherborne, Milton Abbey, Canford and Clayesmore, as well as Sandroyd and Hanford prep schools.
