Description

Previously the village store, the property is now a warm and welcoming character cottage, constructed of local stone beneath a tiled roof with gas fired heating. The property offers deceptively spacious living accommodation arranged over three floors.

A sizeable entrance hall offers fitted cabinetry for boots and coats and there is a downstairs WC. The kitchen/dining room is a newly fitted space with a range of base and eye-level units featuring a central island, complemented by Quartz work surfaces and fitted appliances including hob, extractor, oven and a dishwasher. The sitting room is a lovely peaceful room with a gas fireplace and stove within. There are exposed beams, built-in cupboards and French doors into the courtyard garden. On the first floor, the landing gives access to three well proportioned and characterful bedrooms, served by two family bathrooms, one with a separate shower. On the second floor, the fourth bedroom (currently used as a study), features a vaulted ceiling with exposed purlins and rafters and fitted bookcases along one wall.

Outside

The property is accessed via the rear door which leads to the entrance hall with access to the courtyard garden. Fully enclosed by characterful stone walling, it offers a lovely, private space to relax and unwind. There are stone raised borders stocked with a range of flower and shrubs. Although there isn’t formal parking for the property, the current owners and neighbour have an informal agreement where they both park to the side of the property.

Situation

Bloxham is a large ironstone village south west between Banbury and Chipping Norton, close to the Cotswolds. Within the village there is a range of amenities including a post office, local shops, hairdressers, petrol station, choice of public houses, a village church, dentist and doctor’s surgery. Schooling within the area includes primary, secondary and a public school. The M40 Jct 11 to the east of the town gives access to both Birmingham and London. From Banbury there is also a mainline railway station to London Marylebone.
