The remains of the old mining towers and railways can be seen if you follow the coast road south towards Villaricos, an ancient fishing village with 2 marinas and a harbour. Driving north you come to the town of Aquilas which boasts one of the best Carnivals in the area early on in the year. Here too there is a castle to explore and various picturesque walks. Their is also a superb esplanade with views of the marina, harbour and beaches.
