ABOUT THE LANSDOWNE

The bright, double-height lobby gives way to a series of smart workspaces and lounges across two levels. The ground floor workspace is a far cry from staid corporate office. Pull up a pew at a communal desk or sink into an armchair in the library-like green room for a laptop session away from the buzz.

Only a 5 minute walk to FiveWays Train station and 3 minute walk to FiveWays Tram station, this building offers a spacious, air-conditioned gym on the lower ground floor, which is stocked with state-of-the-art Technogym equipment, including distinctive weight and cardio zones. A secure bike storage area nearby includes a workshop for on-the-go maintenance and a table tennis table.

An airy, flexible space for co-working, events and good conversation, the cultural mixer is The Lansdowne’s central hub. Choose a cubicle for ultimate privacy when you’re plugged in or settle in with a book or laptop by the window. Ideal for birthdays or gatherings that require a little extra fanfare, there’s a fully equipped kitchen at the far end and a solid oak dining table to seat up to 18.For cosy catch ups with the neighbours, The Den is a sophisticated hangout space with a wall-mounted television, pool table and a stack of board games.

AREA GUIDE

From lazy evenings in effortlessly chic wine bars, to the constant buzz of a cultural quarter that pulls no punches, there’s nowhere else quite like the UK’s second city.

TO DO

Where do we start with Birmingham? One of the UK’s largest cities, it has its own unique character and is a multicultural hub for creativity, independent eateries , bars and shops in the heart of the Midlands. You’ll find hidden gems throughout the city, however let’s start local to The Lansdowne with Edgbaston and the fantastic local places to eat including the newly opened Smoke and Ash Pizzeria, which offers the finest Italian cuisine and some great experimental cocktails. Chapter restaurant offers delicious breakfast through to dinner menus, whilst Loki Wines has an amazing choice of wines and bottled beers, which can be enjoyed on their terrace. For some good old fashioned grub, you can head to The High Field or The Physician. However, if you fancy a touch of luxury why not head to the Michelin star restaurant, Simpson.

Edgbaston Village is also home to luxury interior specialists; there are a whole host of home and lifestyle stores in the area, including Neptune, BoConcept and many others. And if you’re a fan of the active and outdoorsy lifestyle, visit Birmingham botanical gardens located only a short walk away from The Lansdowne, a truly beautiful green space featuring and wonderful glass houses.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Living in this area is very convenient and enjoyable. There’s a great range of local shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment nearby, with lots of good food options and places to socialise. It’s also only a short walk into the city centre, which offers even more to do and see, from shopping and dining to cultural attractions and nightlife. The canals are close by and the reservoir isn’t far either, which is nice for walks and some green space away from the city. Transport links are excellent, with a tram stop right outside near a large Morrisons, plenty of bus routes, and easy access to e-bikes and scooters, making it very easy to get around. I have my own parking space so parking isn’t an issue. The street can be a bit noisy at times due to traffic and the occasional siren, but that’s fairly typical for city living and not a major problem.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I haven’t needed to raise any problems, as the building is well maintained. Management communicate clearly and keep residents informed in advance about any scheduled maintenance or works.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I don’t think there’s anything I wish I’d known in advance, but I’d recommend making use of the shared social spaces and facilities early on, as they’re a great part of the building and help it feel like home quickly.

    Manager's response

Hi Will, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review. We're really glad to hear you're enjoying the design, facilities, and community atmosphere here—it means a lot to the whole team. It’s great to know the local area and transport links are working well for you too. We really appreciate your kind words about the staff and management, and we’re delighted that the social spaces have helped make the building feel like home. If you ever need anything at all, we’re always here to help.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Close to the station, has easy bus routes, and has a Morrisons just opposite the building, which is really cool.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very quickly, efficiently, and without any complaints.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Would have liked carpets in the bedroom for the cold months.

    Manager's response

Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re really glad to hear that the concierge and management team have been able to support you whenever you’ve needed us, and that you feel confident with the building’s security. The local area has a good range of shops, cafés, restaurants and bars within walking distance, plus pleasant green spaces and leafy walks nearby for fresh air and exercise. Groceries are easy with supermarkets close by and lots of casual dining options. Transport links are very convenient with frequent buses on Hagley Road, Five Ways station nearby and easy access to central Birmingham and beyond.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management have responded promptly and professionally to any issues raised, resolving them quickly and keeping residents informed throughout the process.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Storage, natural light and sound insulation are better than you might expect from a viewing, making the space feel comfortable and calm. It’s also nice to discover how smoothly everything runs once you move in, from parcel handling to maintenance requests, which makes settling in easy and stress-free.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Living in Lansdowne, Birmingham, is convenient and enjoyable. There is a good range of local shops, including supermarkets and small stores for daily needs, along with plenty of cafés, restaurants, and pubs nearby. Areas like Broad Street, Brindleyplace, and Edgbaston Village are within walking distance and offer good food, nightlife, and open spaces. Transport links are a major positive, with frequent buses on Hagley Road and Five Ways train station close by, making it easy to travel into the city centre or around Birmingham. Bin collections are reliable, and anti-social behaviour is minimal.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management has been very responsive, professional, and reassuring whenever issues have been raised. Communication has always been clear, and issues have been addressed efficiently. In particular, Augustina at the reception was extremely helpful when we experienced an issue with one of our heaters. She personally came to check the problem, kept us informed, and made sure the correct solution was provided, which made the whole process stress-free.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There are occasional events hosted for residents, which are a great way to meet other people in the building and enjoy a sense of community. They’re something you wouldn’t fully appreciate from a typical viewing, but really add to the living experience. I’d also recommend getting to know the reception and management team early on, as they are very supportive and make day-to-day living much easier.

    Manager's response

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. It’s wonderful to hear that you’ve had such a positive experience living here, and we’re really pleased the building’s design, security and upkeep have all helped you feel comfortable and at home. Your kind words about the team mean a great deal. We’re delighted that both management and reception have continued to make things easy and reassuring for you. We’ll be sure to pass on your lovely feedback to Augustina as well — she’ll be thrilled to know her help made a stressful situation far more manageable. Thanks again for such a detailed and heartfelt review. If there’s ever anything more we can do to support your stay, we’re always here to help.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Great location, near amenities. Clear environment. Not a lot of noise outside the building, despite the main road it sits on. Parking is great and the bins are collected in a timely fashion - even during the strikes. Browny points.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

In a very timely fashion. Always amazed by the quickness to solve a problem, answer an email and just be as helpful as possible.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The only thing that is really out of their control due to design, is it would be great to have a greater private outdoor space or even a terrace as such.

    Manager's response

Hi Ellie, thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. It’s wonderful to hear that the building has everything you’ve needed for a comfortable stay and that the team have made such a strong impression — they’ll be delighted to know their positivity and willingness to help have stood out. It’s great to hear the location, parking and general upkeep of the area have added to your experience, especially with things staying smooth even during busier times. We appreciate your thoughts on outdoor space too — while it’s limited by the building’s original design, feedback like this is always valuable for us to keep in mind. Thankyou again!
