5Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Transport, firstly, is 2nd to none from this location. Not only do you have a tram that runs every 7 mins into the centre of the city (and beyond as far as the airport), the variety of buses cover most main areas of Edinburgh. In addition you are in walking distance to one of my favourite areas of Edinburgh The Shore as well as having Ocean Terminal (still in the process of a reboot) for more entertainment and eating places. The surrounding area is very quiet, with only the of the tram. Weather-wise, it can get pretty windy so that's maybe the only drawback of being right on the coast. Finally the view. Our sea view is pretty epic and watching the comings and goings of the boats during the day is sometimes entertainment enough for us.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
We have had a couple of more complex issues, and they were dealt with well.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Parking vans etc in the loading bay opposite reception is nice and tidy in practice, but it may give new residents a long walk with heavy stuff to their actual building, often against traffic coming into the car park. I'd try and park near the rear entrance of your specific building. One other piece of advice - sign up to the TULU vending machine 7 day trial. You get £10 free credit for the week - we just bought lots of Peanut M&Ms, but you can probably use it more shrewdly that that.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
The location is really convenient. Leith is close by with supermarkets, restaurants, shops and plenty of places to go. You’re also not far from the city centre, but it’s nice being slightly away from the busy part of town. Everything we need is pretty much on the doorstep.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
I've had no issues that have needed maintenance, so thankfully I haven't really had to use the service. Everything has been fine in the flat.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Leith has so much nearby and there are plenty of supermarkets, shops and places to eat, so you don't have to go into the city centre for everything.
Manager's response5Hi there Jolly Thank you so much for your lovely review. The team at Dockside work hard to make sure that all residents get the best experience we can provide for them and we sincerely appreciate you taking the time to write this review Please reach out if you need anything

1Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Leith is a fantastic place to live, with a great mix of independent shops, cafés, restaurants, bars and green spaces. There’s a real sense of community, and the area has plenty to do while still feeling relaxed and residential. Transport links are generally convenient, with good access to the city centre. Overall, it’s a vibrant and welcoming area with lots of character.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
The team are generally kind and helpful, unfortunately most issues arise from out of touch higher ups outside of the dockside property.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
All of the above that has been shared, the hidden costs associated with an already suffocatingly expensive building.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
The area is great — we found the place very well located, close to many restaurants, hotels and markets, with the public transport hub only a 4-minute walk away, including buses and a tram.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Very prompt responses to any issues in our unit. Helpful.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Honestly can't think of anything, the move-in process was straightforward.
Manager's response5Hi there Andres, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this lovely review. Everyones feedback is much appreciated and helps us to continually strive to make sure that everyone has a great living experience here at Dockside

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
I moved to Dockside a couple of months ago and have really liked the area so far. I like being a little outside the city centre because it feels much quieter, but you are still really close to everything. Leith is only a short walk away and there are lots of places to eat and go for a drink, plus the buses and tram make getting into town really easy. Ocean Terminal is also handy for Tesco and anything you need day to day.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
I've had a couple of things that needed looking at since moving in and the maintenance team have been helpful. It's reassuring knowing that when something isn't quite right in your flat, you can report it and there is someone on site who can deal with it.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
How easy it would be to settle in. Moving to a new city and a new home can be a bit overwhelming, but having such a friendly team and lots of other residents around made it much easier than I expected.
Manager's response5Hi Maria, Thank you for your wonderful review and for taking the time to share your experience at Dockside. We are delighted to hear that you have settled in so well and are enjoying both your apartment and the wider community. It's fantastic to know that you appreciate the cleanliness of the building, the communal facilities, and the sense of safety that was so important to you when choosing your new home. We are especially grateful for your kind comments about Bel. We know she will be thrilled to hear how much her support has meant to you. We understand that moving to a new city can be challenging, and we're pleased that being able to communicate in Spanish has helped make your experience more comfortable and enjoyable. It's also great to hear that you have enjoyed our resident events and found it easy to connect with others in the building. Creating a welcoming and inclusive community is something we strive for every day, so feedback like yours means a great deal to the on site team. Thank you as well for recognising the efforts of our maintenance team. We're pleased that any issues you've raised have been dealt with promptly and that having support on site gives you peace of mind.
